So i’m just wondering how people figure out these haste breakpoints and where you go to find out what they are.
As I’m sitting here deciding between Crit or Haste pieces i’m wondering how i can find out when to switch to crit and how much overall effect it will have on damage.
If the recommended haste number is 25.8% and you have 28.7% how do you know how much of a net dps loss this will be vs if you took that 3% haste and switched it for crit?
is there a resource to check these things each season? I know it’s prob done through math equations that are over my head but just wondering if there is somewhere i can use for a guideline without having to ask streamers when they prob get asked 5x a day
hmm ok i guess my terminology is off what i really want to know is how much haste to shoot for before going for crit. not sure if there is a point in which haste becomes redundant. i’m not sure if such a number exists for havoc.
Cas is right my man. Better to understand why you’re asking instead of just looking for a number that someone came up with randomly for a reason you don’t even know.
He outlined it far better than I could have because I don’t know the intricacies of dh but haste doesn’t “lose value” outside of breakpoints which typically are useful for dot oriented classes for example. Also, while a pve player may have an answer from a dps rotation perspective (which isn’t too far off from how dh plays anyway right? ), jokes aside pvp places a higher value on haste because cast times are important, as are globals. Mastery is a better dps stat for me for instance however having low haste as a caster feels awful for instance.
I’m sure some of this you knew but, all in all it’s just a complicated question. And I always tell myself anyway, if it’s that close of a decision, it doesn’t really matter.
Friggin’ Flapz bro. He’s like this warm, friendly beacon of hope, but also elusive and mysterious like sound cloud rappers making 50 million dollars in 2 weeks out of no where.
Rofl trying man. I work tomorrow night as well but I can play Friday and Saturday night. Then I won’t be able to log back on until the following Thursday night but that will start my week off! Unless I grab OT of course.
I’ll have you know that despite me missing 2-3 vaults, I did play my alt and made him feral for you! Maybe I’ll get his weapon this weekend along with a couple other pieces. Slowly but surely. The question is, is necro still gonna be the move w/jungle? I hope so.
See above! I got you this weekend. I wanted to upgrade my new piece to duelist so I tried to grab any old quick 3’s lfg game before work. BIG mistake lmao. Dropped 40 points in 2 games. They were all “omg my b my b,” then on the second game they ninja logged . Lfg wasn’t the move. Shouldn’t have snagged some 1700 dudes.
You and I both know you don’t have to follow meta to be successful. Haha I’m just pulling your chain though man, I’m in no hurry. Got my Priests to Rival, just working on conquest and vault capping to max gear as quickly as possible atm.
I think what you are meaning to ask is at what point are diminishing returns making your stat choices the wrong choices:
This penalty is as follows:
From 0 to 30%, there’s no penalty.
From 30% to 39%, there’s a 10% penalty.
From 39% to 47%, there’s a 20% penalty.
From 47% to 54%, there’s a 30% penalty.
From 54% to 66%, there’s a 40% penalty.
From 66% to 126%, there’s a 50% penalty.
You can’t get more than 126% from gear rating.
If you want to read more in depth about this, here is the wowhead article about the subject:
As always, simming your gear is the best way to tell what pieces will increase your dps. That is another topic and requires some more addons and knowledge from you. But you can easily google some YouTube videos that explain how to do just that.
