Sorry for your loss, and hope you can enjoy the outside world again soon!
Wow has got me through several deaths in 10 yrs ,an accident and lose of job ,even loneliness . It’s people both friendly and unfriendly keeps me going that gives a meaning ,a purpose.
Through the maze of life ,I can actually pick the time when these events happen when and where easily ,the furthest I can remember is when i first met a guy in Wotlk ,he was 14 at the time and now he’s 22 .I watched him changed over the years from a go getthem type doing things out of control to a business nerd going to college < still a silly lol.
Wow over time is like a hilly road. You go up at the start and go down and then back up. Over the years it had steep hills with low hills to go up. Someday the journey has to end.
I can see it potentially doing some harm as well if you play it an unhealthy amount, I hope that you started to prioritize other things while still being able to play.
it helps me survive my 9-5 so yes
does RL help you get through it? XD
Being as I have always used gaming as a means of 'escape" from my day to day tedious life yes it has many times in one way or the other. The monetary cost & time investment alone has helped keep from using other less safe and more addictive means of escaping my day to day . Having friends who I could vent to that I have met through WoW has helped as well.
