You know I know some people may not like the way the game has changed through the years, and I for sure haven’t loved every change either, but this game has been there for me at my highest highs in life, and more importantly my lowest lows, and for that I am grateful.
I guess my question is has wow ever helped you go through a rough patch IRL?

It’s kinda doing that right now.
Pandemic has me working from home.
New job has me 200+ miles away from most people I know.
Didn’t get settled in here long enough to make friends.
So my guild gives me people to hang out with.

When I was younger and struggling more with depression this and other games helped me get by. Other things did as well but just having a virtual world to help take my mind off of the misery of my irl helped a bit.
I am not saying this is the soul thing that helped with my depression but as something that just helped with my motivation when I felt like doing nothing for days on end this was a good starting point to try and get my life back on track.

It helped me back in the school days. I just played WoW instead of doing homework or studying. Real time saver, kept the spirits up in those dark moments!

Can’t tell if you are trolling or not really

Absolutely not trolling. WAKE UP.
Yea what do you mean though
Sure. I think it’s logical that people have outlets when they’re going through difficult things. And I can say WoW has been that for me. I currently hate the state of arena, but it’s still a game I love because it’s been there for me through difficult times.

Warcraft hasn’t halped me through any tough times…yet.
Although when I want to chill out I load up American Truck Simulator and play that. It’s crazy how peaceful that game makes me compared to WoW. With the wind in my hair and doing deliveries interstate. It’s awesome.

Not me but it helped a colleague deal with a bad divorce. Started playing wow then became work-wow everyday and on weekends for almost couple years. Then just like that he quit. He found a new girlfriend, got married and have couple kids now. He never played or talked about wow again. It’s almost bizarre.
This game isn’t going to solve your problems.
No, it hath only ever served as a distraction to cool my roiling ire.
Though it may have spared a few of my knuckles.
I didn’t say has wow solved your problems, I said has it helped you get through any tough times in life, I know when I had a loved one pass, wow was there for me when I was crying everyday it helped take my mind off of it for a little bit.
