All my RL friends that tried out classic wow having not played vanilla wow have quit. They got to around lev 44 and then stopped, leaving me on the server they picked :frowning:

I think most of the people sticking around either played vanilla WoW or on private servers and the rest will dwindle off

A couple of my friends quit.

But, they’re also the people with literally no jobs and aren’t attending school. They rushed through the content in a month, then became bored. So, it doesn’t surprise me that those types of players quit.

Any game will have a population drop-off at some point.

If that terrifies you, roll on the highest populated server and you won’t see a difference.

Otherwise, don’t ever play online games again.

My sub runs out today. Thanks to Blizz shenanigans which have been discussed ad nauseam.

I played classic on the first day it dropped, logging in instantly as servers opened and thousands of people flooded into the starting zones. Waited in multiple hour+ long queues.

There’s definitely been a noticeable drop, but it was expected. I don’t think there’s queues on any servers (besides Faerlina in prime time I think?). Layers have been dropped. A lot of sight see’ers that wouldn’t last long. Classic is a time intensive game and definitely not for everyone. I don’t have nearly the time to play these days like I used to in high school. But I still enjoy it. There’s still a very large community that will definitely last a long time.

All my friends quit. Was to be expected, there was inevitably going to be a drop-off. The people who remain will play through naxx though and if you’re worried about population, you’ll have more than enough to do all content. Even with the drop off the classic servers are still enormous compared to pservers and original vanilla servers.

There has been no noticeable “drop off.” If anything more people are playing now than at launch. While they may have scaled back the amount of time they play, people are still playing.

All anyone has to do is check the servers at prime time. All servers hit full, except for 4. Our guild has so many people that we had to stop recruiting.

People who either powered through the content and got bored or don’t like the deliberate pace/grind of Classic/Vanilla never really mattered to me anyway.

This is tourists leaving. This is what was expected, seeing as vast amounts of retail players got to play classic for no additional cost. They came, they toured, they are now leaving. It is a good thing.

There has been some drop-off, sure.
But i think there seems to be less people because we’re spread out over many zones.
At the start of game we were compressed.
Still lots of people playing.

Yeah, now you are simply sunday trolling at this point.

Classics okay but it’s so time consuming due to a lack of certain features like dungeon finder that many of the older players simply don’t have the time. Once we get BC/wraith features we’ll probably see a lot more normal people playing the game at max level. By normal I mean, people who don’t just work part time or not at all/work more than 8 hour 9-5 days, which in this day in age is rare because of the lower value of the dollar and the situation prior generations left us to clean up before they retired. Back when vanilla was out the problem wasn’t so bad and players could afford to have no life whatsoever. Now it’s a little harder to do.

Expected, this was meant for the older crowd who want to play again. It’s a museum piece and way to show more subs at investor meetings and nothing more.

I really don’t want to ever go back to retail, in fact, I’ve been gone from there for over two years now. I enjoy classic. It takes longer but I enjoy the leveling more, I like the game as classic. That is my opinion, well and some of my friends…so allow me to say “we” without getting the usual “who’s we speak for yourself blah blah”. Just like retail, I’m not concerned with player count. As long as I am having a good time with a game, I’m going to play it. I was not having a good time with retail WoW anymore. You cannot know, will not know, any solid numbers about any game really…all you can know is if you enjoy playing it or not. The rest…well speculation aside, is very dependent on the person or persons. There is no rush. I don’t know where that came from but there is no rush to get to 60. We (again, my friends and I) are taking our time, having fun. If you are having fun then its a win, if not, well, you know what to do. I refuse to worry about what other people are doing and why because I’m usually wrong about that anyway. I’m in it for the fun…that’s it.

OMG, where have you people been?
WoW is dead and has been dying for over 15 years.
They’ll probably shut the servers down next month.

People who level slowly and got left behind are quitting before hitting 60. People who rushed to 60 only log in for raids atm.

I doubt that… Who was left behind? Retailers are leaving because of the next BFA content drop. The 60’s I’d say yeah, once BG’s are dropped we’ll see a resurgence.
