I’ve played since wrath, although unsubbed and resubbed many times, but I can’t recall it ever happening this badly in this many different and diverse of ways. Usually its just like, one specific bad game breaking bug rather than tons all at once all in such a short span of time.
Then you clearly didn’t play WoD at launch if you think these problems are bad.
I did play WoD at launch, the difference was that was a launch instead of a random tuesday in january lmao.
I just killed Shriekwing and now I’m stuck in Castle Nathria.
Like 2020 all over again
There were points in World Of Warcrafts history where there were downtimes of days. So yes the game has had worse happenings.
Yeah but it seems like those were usually centered around one huge singular bug rather than 50+ game breaking bugs that don’t really have anything to do with each other, all happening at once.
Oh no, it’s never been “one huge singular bug”. Problems with WoW coding are more akin to throwing an entire crate of eggs on the floor then trying to identify which egg is broken. It’s all of them.
The problem is the crate.
I’m not defending extended downtime but this is patently not true.
Also posting about the game being buggy without specifics is just straight-up bait.
Edit: One bug I did experience was having issues with being in combat in legacy dungeons while doing my mog and mount runs, but this is an inconvenience and not “game breaking.” I finished my runs just fine this morning.
Doubtful 50+ bugs are occurring right now, it is much more likely there is some underlying core failure happening between the client and the server.
People also tend to forget that there are humans working on the other side of the game.
I’ve been working in software for an extremely long time and you’d be shocked at how inefficient and how messed up multi-billion dollar companies’ infrastructure is. People think Blizz is a big-bad and can throw an infinite amount of money at things then forget about the Crowdstrike error, Experian hack, AWS backdoors, etc.
We’ve had “bad times” like this before, but this is the most recent one, and they usually happen at the start of a patch or something.
And, in addition to this, we already had bugs that have persisted for weeks. Like the titles bug.
It’s just an annoying time, overall.
There’s seemingly more game-breaking bugs than usual.
Most bugs in the past were generally minor stuff and the game could still be played.
Then in that case since you have played since Wrath, you’ve seen this before and already know it happened/s.
Honestly, I’m not sure … but it’s pretty immense at the moment
Bugs encountered at the moment:
- Random Timewalking and Random Heroics queues, along with some M+ dungeons are bugging out with “This instance is currently full” — or suddenly being zoned out of the dungeon once inside it – and then getting that message when you attempt to re-zone back into it.
- Hitting accept on a random Battleground queue and instantly getting the message “This instance is full” along with the Deserter Debuff.
- Be in a half-disconnected state, where everyone else is running on the spot, spells don’t work and you can’t cast or do anything — but chat seemingly works fine
- As per the above → If you relaunch the game, you won’t be able to log back into that character for quite some time, due to the bug: “A character with this name already exists”
- You may also just randomly get disconnected from the server and have the above issue too.
- Certain chests and open-boxes have been empty and disappear.
- Some people are unable to leave raids or instanced areas, hearthstones and teleport utilities showing the animation but not casting and the portals not functioning.
- Additionally, with raids and dungeons – Bosses have not been able to be looted and if your character manages to zone out, the loot owed (including currency) is not sent in the mail via the postmaster.
- As per the above, the similar issue can occur but to a lesser extent where some loot is received but nonetheless has a significant amount of items missing from what should had been received.
And those are just the ones I know of …
You think its bad now? Just wait until player housing.
What exactly are these game breaking bugs? I haven’t ran into any. Maybe you could make more sense talking specifics instead of just randomness and vague stuff?
I can think of maybe two instances where it’s been worse than this but it was usually before launch of an expansion or a new core feature.
They did emergency maintenance and were all hands on deck until it was resolved, there was updates consistently from blue posts.
This feels like everything broke and they didn’t even bother to wake anyone up to address it.
Not in my experience, no, but it seems like much of it is already fixed?
Unsure about timewalking, going to wait trying that again for a couple days, to make sure the one guy I’m doing one TW dungeon per week keeps that buff rolling for the mount.
There’s no guarantee shutting down the game would have given any net benefit to resolving the issue, especially if they’re using bug reports to figure out where things in the game started going wrong. When timewalking bugged out I started leveling an alt. No reason to deny players the ability to play just so that it looks like Blizzard is doing something.
I don’t know. With the extent of these bugs and the impact on gameplay, I would disagree. We don’t even know the long term impacts yet.
I mean, these are huge if people are losing their weekly lockouts…
After the guild bank fiasco, I have no faith that Blizzard will do anything to limit the damage or take any action to make things right after they do fix it.
These are game breaking I’m not sure what to tell you buddy.
