Has blizzard lost their minds?

First, this is not a thread where I plan to attack anyone but I am going to be very blunt and keep it real.

Heirlooms are being NERF’d What are they thinking?

Oh they are going to still scale with you

They are still going to be ‘somewhat’ better than a small percentage of the gear you find as you level

The XP Boost though, you know the one thing people want to use Heirlooms for to begin with? Well, it is gone in shadowlands???

WTH are they thinking??

To be fair though if they want to do away with the main reason for heirlooms, are they prepared to give refunds for the prices we have paid for these items? because I know myself over the years I have invested a small fortune for the heirlooms that I have bought…

Yes I know someone will bring up that they are planning to give us something else as a stat (( instead of the XP boost)) but frankly I don’t care what else you give, the reason I bought these heirlooms was for the XP boost…

leveling to 50 without heirlooms takes like 4 or 5 hours, you guys need to calm down.

I’d imagine it’s something along the lines “we’re reducing the base time it takes to level by 60-70% so the up-to-55% bonus on heirlooms is obsolete”.

It’s like they are giving heirlooms an an exp boost (Because the baseline is better) and an extra stat. They got even more bang for their buck.

So what, I dont care what excuse they come up with.

IF I pay for an item I want to use it AS INTENDED

IF I buy milk I dont expect to get water
IF I buy a car I dont expect to get a bicycle
and when I buy a Heirloom and spend hundreds of thousands of gold to get them, I dont expect Blizzard to come along and make them useless.

They will have NO Xp boost in Shadowlands at all

They can’t help themselves because of the illusion of sunk gold (sunk cost) they have in looms.

They didn’t need to nerf it, but they did it because leveling in general will be faster than it typically is.

So really the xp nerf wont really change how fast you level at all. It’ll be the same as it currently is with the winds of wisdom buff.

They are decreasing the time it takes to level, that makes leveling faster and the percentage quoted is better than the amount that heirlooms give.

but i want the best of both worlds, along with a refund for the things which i’ve been using for years!!

and you also used those heirlooms over the years

I don’t ask the guy I bought a darkmoon deck from for a refund when it falls out of meta

That right there is what has me upset about it.

That’s a curious statement for someone that asked twice what they were thinking. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised given the overly petulant nature of the rest of the post though.

To me that already sounds like a better deal than leveling from 1 to 110 WITH looms, a process that could take about 1-2 days(24 to 48 hours for those of you in Rio Linda). I would make that deal for 1 to 50 in 4-5 hours played.

:joy: these people are fighting against a buff. “I don’t want to level faster! I want slower leveling and no extra stat!”

I mean if people are so against heirloom refund , maybe blizzard should force us to buy them all , that way everyone feels the loss of few hundred thousand gold ^^
I mean they still gonna be usefull if i listen to those against the refund , so for the sake of fairness , refund or make everyone have all heirloom and pay up .

I can understand this is one way of spinning things. However, its more like if you bought a truck then the auto manufacture came out and said “we’re gonna let you keep your truck but we’re gonna take the tires off your truck because everyone else if driving scooters”. ITS CRAZY MAKING!

As the system has been for many years, people who buy & wear heirlooms get a boost to experience over people who don’t wear heirlooms. Just because the developers decided to do a level squish, and supposedly increasing the experience across the board to compensate for the squish, why shouldn’t people in Heirlooms still get an experience boost over the people who don’t? I have yet to see ANY good argument for removing the experience boost.

I’m sure people are super upset that they won’t be able to turn that 4 or 5 hours into 2 or 2.5 hours.

Illusion? please do explain that comment, because it is no illusion that I spent a boat load of gold …

I understand that it will be faster but that’s beside the point, the whole purpose of heirlooms was to level quicker, and people paid a premium for that.

Again not the point, I paid a ton to get the heirlooms and the only dang reason I bought them (( same with others )) was for the XP boost.

Exactly

NO I don’t care what excuse they come up with, sorry if that upsets you.

Let me be very clear, we could be able to level 1-60 in a hour and I wouldn’t care, because that does not take away from the fact that I paid for something that is going to be useless. Looms are not bought to work for a short while but to be able to use over and over as long as you have your account … If they want to take the whole reason for heirlooms away… then refund everyone who has them.

The ones that are against the concept of a refund OR leaving our XP Boost intact, should have their gold reduced by half a million or so, then lets see how much they cry

They are thinking “Lets just boost leveling by 50-60% for everyone and remove the exp boost on the heirloom.”

So you still in a way get the boost, you just don’t need the gear for it.

Exactly, you buy a Ford they dont come get your motor and leave you a hamster wheel to get round, lol…

Blizzard put the heirlooms in the game as a Gold sink, it was expensive, but those who paid get a XP boost and an advantage. Now Blizz want to take that away, its BS
