Has blizz fixed Calligraphy?

Tried it when blizz added it to turtle WQ. Spent two hours on it never completed it. Have they fix it?

I’ve only done a few of them but I didn’t have any issues (other than being bad at shapes).

They nerfed it within a day or two of those quests going live.
It’s super forgiving, and supposedly if you fail twice, on your third attempt you will succeed no matter how bad you do.

Personally I do the quests whenever they fit into my quest route. There is an addon with a ā€œhelperā€ for it as well, World Quests List, built in. It gives you a little display to track the shape and your position.

I’ve never had an issue with it unless I was doing it on my shaman mount, since it’d be kinda hard to tell where the ā€˜feet’ were.

Usually just pop my engi belt and one-shot it.

Use far view and top view. It will magically make it easier. One shot clear is all I need.

The circle and triangle are easy, sometimes you lag mid run and the game thinks you cut through the middle ignoring a large portion of it, but it picks up on the next go. The square on the other hand I can’t get that down no matter how much I try.

Yeah some mounts are really bad for it, messes with whatever it uses to track your character.
Sky Golem and similar mounts are especially bad.
Any small profile mount works great though, such as horses and anything else that isn’t much wider than your character.

Best advice is to make sure you are turning with your mouse, take your time, use landmarks on the terrain and don’t overthink the shape.
It’s all about the corners for the square and triangle, the circle seems to have a few hidden ā€œcornersā€ you have to satisfy as well.

wth people have trouble with this?

Well thanks to reading the forums I learned a while back you can just start Tracing it on your Mount, so it made it easier for me except the Circle one takes a few tries usually

I never use a mount, you can overshoot.
The square and triangle have terrain markers except one point.
Go to the point that has no marker first.
The circle is easy for me for some weird reason.

Tbh I just now thought of the idea of putting Raid Markers down on the points if anyone has trouble w/ it… but who usually thinks of that? lol

Was gunna suggest this: put raid markers down at the edges to help give referential cues. The hardest one for me is the square because the clutter, in the form of the trees/overhang, makes it difficult for me to get a consistent ā€œzoomā€ for ease of birds-eye-view.

I usually complete each shape on the 1st or 2nd try.

I find the circle the easiest because - for me - it’s about continuous keystroke/mouse input. The others require a start-stop method or varying control inputs. The circle seems the only one that is a consistent input, meaning you have an ā€œinfiniteā€ number of ā€œtimesā€ to make corrections. But if I overshoot the triangle or square? Im done.

Yes,Blizzard please fix this I’ve done the square now 20 times and not get credited to finish the achievement while my alts have completed it doing the same method.

My issue with circles is that, even if I get the right curve, I can’t do the entire thing without stopping to adjust my hand. With the other shapes, I can at least attempt to remember the points and go directly to each.

Never knew it was broken, haven’t had an issue with it since day 1.

I’d have to watch how I maneuver my hand, it’s very instinctual, or appears so, to me. I wonder if I use auto-run, strafe a bit to round the edges, while slewing the mouse?

Another thing I’ve found helping is ā€œoff-center viewing:ā€ basically looking at where the outline/sparkles pass by, or through. This way I get an idea of where my lateral confines should be.

Kind of like it’s easier to stay within two lines than to traverse directly over one.

I had to look for tips and it made things a bit easier.

Staying mounted is a big one

there’s nothing to fix, it’s fine
