I started playing towards the end of classic and I made a mage. In tbc I didn't start playing hardcore yet pretty sure I was one of those kara raiders but I stuck with my mage through the whole xpac.
Then came wotlk. This is where I went hardcore and our guild was #1 on server the entire xpac. I stuck with mage and I loved it throughout the entire xpac. This is where I finally made an alt. It was a resto druid mainly for arenas with my warr buddy who had frostmourne hehe.
In cata I still stuck with mage but I just started losing interest in this game and quit playing about mid way through and I skipped MOP completely. I ended up coming back halfway through wod n omg mage just felt so different. So I decided to change my main to a DK n hes been my main ever since.
Swapping from a range from so many years to a melee was definetily different at first. So im just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience as me?
Mortis was always my main.
I did however swap my main Spec. I used to be Demonology before it was forever-ruined.
I was warrior in WOD, DK in Legion and Lock in bfa. To me it adds to the memory and flavor of every expansion. Planning a mage for Shadowlands.
I started with a Warrior in Vanilla, swapped to my Warlock in BC. Toward the end of BC I jumped on another server, on Horde, and leveled up a Rogue. He took me in to Wrath.
Early end game, I stopped running the rogue and made a DK tank so I could do daily heroics. I also leveled a Druid, but the DK pretty much became my Horde main.
In Cata I gained my Warlock and DK, but soon switched to my Druid.
MoP was almost all Warlock, WoD was almost all DK, and I’ve been running Piddy here as my “mostly” main through Legion and now BFA, though both my Warrior and Druid are at 120.
My Rogue is back at 87.
Warrior bc, rogue WotLK, warrior legion, paladin BFA
I started on Malygos in 2005 as a Warlock. Made it to level 10.
Rerolled a Resto Druid, and he was a main until BC released.
During Kara days, I played my Rogue. Post-Kara, I played my Mage, while leveling a Warrior.
When Wrath dropped, Krexen became my full time main, and has been ever since.
I was a rogue until the end of WoD. Created this DH and have played it for several years now. Recently discovered how much I love monk and I will be switching to it for SL.
The only thing making it hard to switch is losing a main character with the Mage Tower artifact appearance.
I’ve been a resto shaman for over a decade now.
I have zero interest in changing mains.
From Wrath to MOP was a night elf dk then in WOD benched dk and went mainless switching between Horde BM hunter and Alliance hunter. In Legion stayed with my human BM hunter as real main got so far as 8.3 when I benched him and made my best main ever my Vulpera here.
Fur the Horde
Paladin in BC and the last half of Cata.
Warrior in Wotlk, first half of Cata, MoP, WoD, Legion, and half of BFA.
Currently a mage, though will probably go back to warrior at some point.
Just recently went from Shadow priest to mage, mainly couldn’t get into 15+ keys last patch. With mage being best ranged for m+ Im already getting groups much easier.
Im the OP sorry didn’t realize I was on my classic guy. Im just wondering if anyone else swapped from ranged to melee after so many years or vice versa?
Yeah, I played Warlock for several years until Cata and then I quit. Came back during Legion and played Rogue. The change from ranged to melee was interesting. Not having to worry about being interrupted while spell-casting is definitely nice.
WotLK: DK (blood dps, Fs for blood dps)
Cata: Warlock (destro)
MoP: Warlock (destro)
WoD: Shaman (enhance)
Legion: Shaman (enhance)
BFA: Druid (feral)
I had been an enhance main since vanilla and every expansion since, BFA changed that though.
Yes. Melee for 12 years–tank for a lot of that–before switching to ranged for raid.
I started in Legion and I played about ~3 alts so I’ve never really had a Main, until BFA forced me to.
This alt grind for Essences is terrible.
Every expansion. My first serious main that i used for raids was mage, then moonkin, then DK, warrior and finally demon hunter for past two expansions
Sort of. My mains were traditionally paladin and a shaman.
I swapped the shaman out for another paladin in Cata.
Went from Warlock (BC), to Hunter (BC), to Priest (WotLK), to Paladin (Cata), to Druid (MoP-BFA), then finally to Shammy (BFA).
Reasons for switching:
- Warlock - Was bored
- Hunter - Was just another DPS
- Priest - Loved healing
- Paladin - Wanted to try Tanking (loved pally tanking)
- Druid - Wanted to do everything with one character (still do)
- Shammy - Wanted to try something new but still heal
Stopped playing Priest because - Nerfed into inferiority compared to Druid
Stopped playing Paladin because - Druid let me do everything, so no point
Stopped playing all other classes because - No more time to no-life anymore. Too busy with /adulting
