As the title asks, anyone else feel like playing their current character is pointless now with the fresh servers coming out in like 8 days?

I have a couple buddies stillplaying there, but yeah the Fresh Server thing seems more appealing and the old servers seem pointless and less exciting, especially when you have people already farming Raids versus having a Fresh Economy.
Yes. I was playing nothing but HC for the past 2 weeks, but now it just feels like a waste of time to continue on current servers.

I’m playing there right now. While the hype and fresh is fun, Defias is home. People will return to it. Also, it’s not an investment. It’s a game.

yeah… feels pointless now… the siren song of fresh is calling… nothing to do with streamers and everything to do with a robust population…

Robust population is what you won’t get. Many still are staying - despite what’s said here and despite the initial rush - loath to leave their max level, geared chars behind.
Fresh HC will once again attracht a number of tourists staying only through their first few deaths, because the realy just wanted the thrill of fresh and either stop or transfer off.
Best case scenario would be to cluster the two old HC realms.
Not really, having fun playing my pally and have no intention of stopping anytime soon. Even if I were to die I would still avoid the fresh server like the plague, at least for a few weeks/months.
It’s gonna be filled with tourists and trying to get mob kills even in a group is gonna be hell, will only get worse if the streamers move there.

You arent thinking ahead if you think that. It may be home to you but the economy of new players dies come the 21st. That will the beginning of the end of DP and SR. Polls on streams and reddit consistently show 50-60% of players are gonna leave their current hc realm for the new one.
I give SR not even a day after new servers before its dead and DP a few months of raid logging before its dead.
Likely DP will be the official Alliance realm since the streamers are going Horde on fresh.
Why would any serious player ditch their toons? Fresh servers will only have a bunch of tourists along with streamers and their simps, it will be dead in a few months anyways… Answer is no, I havent ditch and it doesnt feel pointless to stay on DP because most people will be back when streamer fresh dies down.

Agreed, a new fresh is always poppin, so many players and dungeons and the world feels very alive. Once hype dies down im going right back to DP.
I have 6 toons there and i have been playing hardcore exclusively and really really having fun with classic wow again because of it.
I’m still leveling my SF mage 
lvl 56. I will stop once fresh comes out though. Going back to softcore, I miss PvP lol.
It will begin to die off in about a year “a few months” is just silly anti-fresher cope.
It will begin to die in a few months when all teh tourists heve left and it will be stone dead at the latest when BC launches and we’ll have no BC HC server.
