So i was wondering if a GM has ever helped you with a problem when you put in a ticket, or have you, like me, only ever been told to basically suck it up, buttercup, no matter the issue?
Iâve had very polite GMs. The ones handling Overwatch forums however? Yeaaaah not a fan.
I have never had anything but professional interactions with the GMs. One even commiserated with me when I lost my connection while fighting Aeonaxx.
Iâm sure I have been helped from time to time. I do recall having a character that got repeatedly stuck travelling along a road near Tarren Mills. I couldnât access it to use a hearth or anything and there was no other way to get out at the time, so I had to put in a ticket, and the GM came on and very kindly shifted me away to a clear spot. Of course, that was waay back in the dayâŚ
Heck I had a GM check up on me in game because I cancelled a ticket since I solved the problem shortly after posting the ticket.
It was just funny to have that little message from a GM and thinking âOh god what did I do?â
Oh i admit, they have been polite, but useless.
Any time Iâve contacted support, Iâve received excellent service.
basically, this. Even when I didnât get the answer I wanted, they were professional and responded within the timeframe quoted.
The overwatch ones? I wouldnât say useless. Iâm a little afraid to use the words I would prefer to use here.
Yup. My interactions have been top notch.
Doubt they said that. There are certain stuff that GMs cannot do. If they are telling you no, itâs something they cannot help with.
Early on, when they were more âhands onâ, I remember being helped when I was stuck under something in the world.
I seem to remember the GM actually showing up, then unsticking me.
Since then they never really seem to help, or I log off before anyone contacts me.
Also, the game is more about âhelping yourselfâ now.
For instance, during yesterdayâs incursion some big mob kept hitting me and knocking me around. I got knocked into the water, where we killed him. However, he knocked me under a log or something I could not get out of; So I was stuck. I simply used the flight whistle.
Every time. But then I only bother the GMs if there is something seriously wrong with the game / major issue going on. (Like a gamebreaking bug, or someone talking about suicide etc)
For anything else, thereâs the forums and/or other sites with information.
And trivial things I donât even bother with. As youâre salty about being told to âsuck it upâ, I assume you were either complaining about loot, being kicked from a group or something else trivial.
That is pretty much the solution to being stuck. I mean you can report the bug obviously but it has always been the solution. Initially we had the auto unstuck feature that would use your hearthstone, if that didnât work it would nudge you. GMs rarely showed up unless it was a critical problem.
the only times iâve been helped is when my character was stuck (like being teleported to the barrens GY after dying in pandaria, or not being able to release spirit after falling off deathwing)
every other ticket i can remember has gotten pretty useless responses, like when my archaeology pieces kept getting stuck entirely underground and a GM told me they couldnât do anything about it
Yeah the only time I was ticked off towards a gm was with some random thing in Wrath where if I left Dalaran my game would crash and I could no longer log in.
Took a bit of tickets ( I sadly lost my patience and I am so sorry towards that GM ) til they said I had to go into the game files and change a line of code and poof. Problem solved.
They can either help or they canât. Get over yourself. Obviously legitimate issues get dealt with.
What is it they couldnât help you with?
To be fair, the GM was likely not a game tech and took time to figure it out. Usually when Dalaran did that, it was because your game was corrupt. I remember having to use the repair tool a lot back then.
Nope, wouldnât call it trivial, once 3 of my toons were MIA for about a week, one of them the one i raided on and i got told that they had no record, then poof they arrived back from holidays. Another was an issue with gifts and whether it is possible to refuse them, seems not.
Yes, they have been very helpful for me.
I have been helped by GMs numerous times over the years, and, like others have said, found them to be very professional. More often than not, they have been able to take care of my problem to my satisfaction. Wait times were usually a day or less.
eeyup. But I was a dumb impatient teenager at the time so my fuse was short along with my empathy. Once that part of my brain finished developing I realized âOH GOD I WAS TERRIBLEâ
Yes. Back when heirlooms needed to be mailed between alts, I left a piece in the mail system until it vanished. I put in a ticket and it was replaced.
