Since patch day, my game has sporadic freezes. Then, after a second or two, I can move my mouse cursor but the screen is still frozen. I’ve noticed that it seems to happen more frequently when I pull up a tab, like a character tab screen or collections tab or something. A few guildies mentioned it was happening to them, too.
I know for sure that this never happened before the patch. I thought that maybe the Battle . net app running in the background was causing it, so I changed the settings to close after I launch a game. But, it still happens.

Are you using nvidia drivers by any chance? I thought it was my gpu but I’m getting freezes and driver crashes on wow specifically

I am, actually. But that is what was odd, these freezes are exclusive to WoW.
I can’t really be bothered reverting back to an older driver, but I think if I did it would solve the issue. For me playing casually it’s manageable
Yeah, I’ve noticed it & it seems most frequent when I’m turning my camera.
I’ve also noticed 4 instances of the WoW voice Proxy in my Windows Task Manager, used to be 1. If I closed out that one, before the patch, it would just reopen. If I try closing the 4 now, it kicks me out of the game.
Happening to me also. When I load in the game tells me my drivers are out of date, but updating them didn’t fix the issue

So there is no fix at the moment?
oh good then it’s not just me

Oh good, not just me.
Had it happen a few times in a key yesterday and it was really annoying.
Yep! I have been having random freezes also, hasn’t happened until the 8.3 patch. Also does not happen on Classic.
Same… On patch day it was super bad, like, a micro-freeze every few minutes. It seems to have smoothed out quite a bit now I will only get one or two within 8-9 hours of playing. It is still super inconvenient though. Last one was during a boss fight X.x
Whew… thought my rig was dying. Happens to me when starting a raid or mythic+ or opening the player frame to change gear. Also thought it was an add on… late night ( which is when I am up ) with less people on now that I think about it it happens less.
Keep up the posts friends… got to get this fixed
Low memory notice was given to me when i used direct x. Changing to direct x legacy solves freeze and out of memory problem but at the cost of lower fps. Game didnt function smoothly anymore and tends to lag at times. So i reverted back to direct x and then the game freezes when we did a world quest raid on the big minion in stormvalley near the shrine of storm entrance. Whole computer got stucked. Even alt+control+ escape could not end the program. Just shut my computer by unplugging the power supply lines. Am still suspicious of a memory leak here or probably i have to expand my ram memory. Right now im using only 12 gb ram. It was never a problem before 8.3 patch though. Problem not resolved by blizzard yet i guess cause they couls not give a specific reason on the technical support forum yet.
I was having this issue a lot until I switched my Dx11 setting to Dx12. For some reason that seemed to fix it. I also restarted my PC before that so it’s hard to say with 100% certainty if it was one or both of those things. But I know what I see though, and that is no freezes. My PC went to sleep, woke up and has been running WoW very smoothly. A little laggy on the server end of things, but that is to be expected since it’s basically a raiding holiday coupled with the weekly reset.
I haven’t noticed any issues, but I’m running an RTX2080 Super, and I have 32GB of RAM with my OS on one SSD and the game on another SSD.
I am having memory Leaks , and micro freezes ONLY IN WOW , cod running 60fps no studder, overwatch 160+fps no issues
Yet wow three a memory leak 135 code , and a couple others in the error folder… I have jumped through every hoop in order to right it . Deleted all addons , fresh wow install (made it worse) all settings to 1 , direct 12 , 11 , legacy I have tried all… I’m at the point where I’m just going to cancle subscription as this is rediculous … running strix Gtx 1050ti 4GB dual fan , AMD Ryzen 3 2200G wraith cooler(stock) and Gskill aegis ram @2666 ghz, 750 W power supply.
Again only issues with wow
