Has Anyone Else Ever Wondered:

Why would the devs be making a game for themselves?

I doubt they’re playing the game to begin with.

That’s like building yourself a bike with a car boot lock and convincing OTHER people into trying to ride it if they pedal a little harder, they can get that wheel to turn once and that it’s fun. Then, when enough people get tired of trying to pedal, you just remove the boot lock, but the tire’s all dented and messed up from where people managed to spin the boot lock once or twice.

Isn’t it?

I haven’t wondered. I came to the conclusion that the devs are making a game that they want the players to play.

In that case, they’d be sadists, wouldn’t they?

Still putting their time into creating something.

Make someone create something they don’t want and it’ll look awful.

Kinda like when an artist isn’t really into furry stuff but there’s still a high paying customer that wants that stuff. So they still draw it because of the good pay

Artist still draws something because they want to draw, and gets paid. All without being a furry

Go outside. Y’all are just sad

I can spend a few days making sand castles with a pencil-like detail. But it’s not going to get me money.

Tried that. Graphics are great, but the respawn timer’s pretty slow.

That and someone put a boot on the bike, apparently. Didn’t you read the first post?

You do know there’s professional sand castle builders yeah?

What percentage of them make a livable income? Much less people who aspire to it?

About 6000 a week according to google

6,000% increase a week seems like a pretty high number.

I thought about this a few times when seeing the changes to a system that worked well in the expanion before.

Exactly. It feels like someone put a car boot on your bike to stop you from enjoying the bike too much.

Just let us ride the bike.

You asked livable income. I’m not going to go do research for you to just throw it away like the forums tend to do

That’s certainly one way of describing it. But someone could say that it’s a game they think the players ought to want to play. Or that it would be good for the players, the playerbase, the world at large, and maybe even the universe if the players had to play this game, and play it right™. And to the accomplishment of that end, they will continue to remove options until the only choice players have is to play the game right™.

It appears they are under the misapprehension that casuals can be converted into hardcores by giving them no choice but to do harder content.

They’re doubling down on rated PvP ilvl ranks, which will mean an even greater gear gap and more casuals giving up. Does anyone really think that giving titles to a handful of key pushers will bring in new players?

I did not ask that.

Random things I wonder ~

  • what’s a tauren’s favorite treat?
  • do warlocks get along well with their minions?
  • is it true that gnomes are secretly void lords?
  • do trolls really eat each other?

That.

Even then just go google stuff yourself

Don’t ask that unless you want gnokneecaps.

Not that. I asked how many earn a livable income for a reason. Because Blizz ain’t payin’ their workers.

:sunglasses: :dab:

oh for the love of crap fine gimme a freaking minute

Some estimates say around 500 daily for independent work.

I’m not finding anything that says a percentage of independent makers not having livable income. The rest is just business jargon I have absolutely no interest in reading

I doubt any professional sand castle builders earn a living doing it. It’s probably something they occasionally get a gig to do for somebody’s beach party, or to make a video for some purpose.
