When honor was world PvP only I was able to stay in the top 50-100 even with a day or two off each week. I truly believed that if phase 2 lasted long enough I could get rank 12 or 13.
With bgs I’m currently in the top 200, which will keep me out of rank 11+.
I’m not going to adjust and play 15 hour days every single day for three months. Probably gonna stop at Rank 10.
Have you changed your mind about how far you can go? Why?

It takes a million honour on my server to be in bracket 10. So if you want the blue armour, you’re basically doing more pvp than most other servers GMs/HWLs.
Too bad with xrealm BGs, we aren’t doing xrealm honour rankings too. As is- you pretty much need to no life just to get the blue gear here- rank 1 is around 2 million honour.
And you can tell it put a lot of players off, because our pvp population went from almost 3k to barely over 1k on honourspy in just a week (though- half of that was also half the guilds left leaving with PCT).

Nope. I always planned to slowly and casually, eventually reach rank 10.
Plan hasn’t changed in any significant way. It’ll take me a few months at this rate, but I expect it to get easier as time goes on and the top rankers finish/burn out.

I was originally hoping to get Rank 10 again to complete the Paladin set.
I can’t spend 6 hours a day PvPing for a couple months to get that, so I just stopped at Rank 3.

Im still going for r11 but I’ll just go about it slower till the AV meta dies down, because the upper brackets are now 16hrs+ a day, 7 days a week.
just gonna slowly move up until people finish by feb. dont forget ranking is still avilable for the next 15 months, dont have to rush it now while it requires more time investment. all the gear is trash anyways beside for hybrids
I decided I’m gonna wait to try PvPing seriously. I only grinded AV to Honored rep and I already felt ready to burn out.
yeah people are burning themselves out for gear thats replaced via bwl or by spring-summer
bwl fights will also last like 30 seconds, those GM weapons vs the weapon inside bwl wont change much

Thank god that toxic garbage got cut short … long live the 60 minute queues… then again if you could convince all the other horde who started drooling and became rabid, camping, pathetic vultures to reestablish P2 by ignoring BG’s then you are good to go.
You’re welcome Alliance

I was thinking of rank 3. But changed and for sure decided to not bother past rank 2.

I mean rank 3 is only 5000 RP, in order to not derank all you have to do is get 15 hk every week, thats like one av a week to keep your discount

I had a lot of fun grinding honor in the world and since it wasn’t easy, I ranked competitively for my time spent. And I had fun doing it.
Since AV, I’m just not having fun, playing very little, and expecting to downrank slowly. Its a game and no amount of gear can push me over the finish line to grind if I’m not having fun, and quite frankly I can’t reach a reasonable goal even if I devoted every ounce of available play time to AV.
The unfortunate structure of Vanilla: If you can’t play “enough” you might as well not play at all, and right now “enough” is more hours a day than I can ever devote.
“Enough,” before AV, was not just reasonable but fun for me.

I totally agree. You could really distinguish yourself from the pack by getting one on one victories for lots more honor than the instance/flight master campers.

Was aiming for R11. At rank 4 atm.
I don’t really care, i’ll see where playing this as a time killer will get me. I have a lot of projects in mind for next year so i doubt i’ll get really high but i’m not at a point in life where this game can be a high priority more than a couple nights a week to raid with my friends.
Its just psychological, i can’t get out of my head how i’m just wasting my time when just running around in AV, not like reading, writing or whatever else i do as hobbies hold any more monetary value but at least it gets my mind going a lot more than AV farming.
I find it really odd that people thought they had a chance to compete in the upper bracket without
- No life playing
- Account sharing
- Botting

Was just fun to think about it guess, its not like you think of the outright cost of playing that much when just daydreaming about it, that happens when you’re faced with the reality of it.
Tier gear is arguably better for locks anyway.
But, we knew this was going to be the case when Blizzard announced it would be xrealm bgs.
Back before xrealm bgs in Vanilla, I made Field Marshal on 70-100k a week. After xrealm bgs, people were earning over a million by botting.

True enough, is what it is.
Goal: Get high enough for a Trinket.
I knew from Vanilla, decent ranks required lots of hours. The top ranks require account sharing.
No, and no thanks. Especially after what AV has made honor grinding become, its not even really something that looks fun to achieve.
I’ll wait for Ranks to go away, just like they did in the past.
