Harronir are a mistake, just like Earthen and Dractyrs

or Pandaren

Yeah, you also said Tuskarr

are part of the old School WoW.

They’re from Wrath

To be fair, I know that Pandaren existed long before, but I still believe the main reason they became playable was the success of Kung Fu Panda.
That being said, it’s still by far a better addition than DeviantArt furry foxes.

NO, In fact, because of Kung Fu Panda, it ruined the reason for playing MoP. NO ONE TOOK IT SERIOUSLY, it was underrated, and even the Jade Forest lore, the best zone lore ever made in WoW history, didn’t help.

The mistake Mezten made in trying to include the Pandaren stemmed from a joke reference; it wasn’t even a joke, it was something he drew for his daughter back in the Warcraft 3 days, and it was more of a Japanese-style panda than a Chinese one. It’s truly ridiculous.

However, their lore, zones, and everything they represent has given JRPGs what they are: GREAT.

That’s why talking about the Pandaren is the same as talking about the Tauren, and in one expansion, they gave that same care to all the content that a patch didn’t do for the Vulvera, and they were the wrong target for the Horde.

If you mean tuskar they existed since war3 pretty sure as creeps in northrend

We want ogres not these disgusting harronir

They should have written it so that, if anyone had to get them at all, it would be the Alliance. That would probably have especially pleased a lot of Worgen players, even though Worgen are many times better than Vulpera, despite having had their teeth methodically pulled in recent years.
The Horde could then have gotten their natural opponents in the form of Sethrak, who aesthetically fit the Horde much better.

I secretly hope that the devs will eventually stick a splinter group into the Alliance anyway. Maybe with a small boat in Stormwind Harbor. That would, on one hand, bring back some of the… very particular players that this race attracts to the blue side and on the other hand, it would give me a reason to start PvP again.

Oh neat they were

Did you not do the Voldun Campaign? The Horde and Vulpera ally with the Sethrak and take out the Faithless (the evil Sethrak).

Just had to go and make it weird again…

Or you could… just go pvp?

But the Eredar ARE just red, fel infused Draenei. Frankly I think most allied races SHOULD just be consolidated into customization options.

Regular ogres have typically been the same height as tauren.
See → classic WoW model (you see one as early as the barrens guarding a goblin)
See → Kovork Kostume
See → Carved Ogre Idol & Magical Ogre Idol
They’ve just always had varying sizes. Sometimes they ARE giants, sometimes not.

How soon we forget GIANT Thrall and other named characters in expansions past.

Superior in transmog ability compared to trolls but not particularly better than the rest in any way. I think they look dumb, and certainly won’t make one. Also they’re very out of left field, I don’t really care about Nelfs but they feel incredibly shoe-horned into the story.

Most likely, it would have been the same size as the Kul Tiran models. I remember back then how many players were convinced they created the Kul Tirans solely to later turn them into ogres. There were even overlaps between the two models, so it wouldn’t have taken much work.

But no, instead they’d rather shove dozens of Alliance reskins and squeaky Chihuahuas in form of furry foxes into the Horde.
The only Alliance reskin that actually made sense was the Zandalari, because it wasn’t just an obvious cheap recolor like in the other cases, but the rest…
Unfortunately, I don’t see an end to this trend…

Blizzard has a trend of ignoring long standing fan favorite races in favor of out of left field weirdo picks.

Sometimes it works out. Draenei. Love me some draenei, maybe my favorite race. But I don’t think many people were clambering to play WC3 draenei or as an Eredar back in the day.

That’s about it though. As much as I like MoP, I have 0 Pandaren. Dracthyr are widely panned to this day like four years after they were added. The allied races are mostly not worth talking about.

Ah, good. I’ve seen them be larger so I was concerned, but tauren size should be generally fine for questing.

I made a thread asking if they wanted an expansion where new races were relevant to the story or not or just inserted like how mag har were with bfa.

I answer i got qas majority they wanted them to be part of the xpacs story, not a side addition with barely any emphasis.

There’s a part 1 and part 2 megathread for ogres. People have been BEGGING for Ogres for years seeing as they were always part of the Horde. Doesn’t help that we’ve been told that they were considered for new playable races multiple times over the years.

And considering how few people I think actually use these forums, a couple hundred likes is quite a lot.

A minute’s thought would prove nobody asking for ogres will actually play one for more than a week.

You’ve clearly never played a male Tauren for a prolonged period of time. Architecture that kills you (even in Horde cities), doors you cannot fit through (even built by Horde races), items you cannot click on (even in Horde areas).

Anybody who’s played a male Tauren for, oh, a good ten years or so, knows that they’re miserable to play.

And Ogres would be worse.
