Hardware reccomendation

I know its a bit pricey but does anyone think this is a good buy?

Ive never used a watercooling setup.

Extremely overpriced. Get something cheaper and better. RTX 3070 is $499 if you can find it with stock.

If you insist on AMD, try these.

Ryzen 5 5600X is $299 if available.

Are those about equivalent to this build?

Yeah, I forgot to add Windows 10 cost.

Not a fan of amd?

I feel liek I have only ever had intel… but I thought I remember somehting ray tracing last year with AMD…

Stock issue for AMD. 5600X is better than 3600 XT by a lot. Adjusted the parts.

Ray tracing is on the graphic card, not CPU on gaming.

power supply is just barely enough i guess…

The issue with some of the system integrators’ specs is they don’t tell you exactly what parts they used. The one you linked is 3600X which is slower than 5600X, questionable motherboard and SSD. It could be motherboard with bad VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) and DRAMless SSD crap. I will assume worst case scenario if they don’t specify exact model of the product. Power supply meets Nvidia recommended power supply.

Welcome.

You have to be careful when buying a prebuilt rig. Just double check the specs and compare prices.

Is there any pre-builts that you might recommend for someone who cant build their own?

I’d like to have the ray-tracing but overrall my pc cant handle going beyond “5” on wow settings and even at that I dip into 11 fps at times.

The lava-room in Soul Forges (Torghast) for example is prolly 3-4 fps! But plenty of areas and situations I end up at low fps.

What I’m using currently:
Intel(R) Core™ i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz (6 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 16336MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

Also have seen some performance drops since my wife got me this nice monitor:

Replace that. It is in no way, shape, or form a 4k gaming GPU. Even for a game like WoW.

Yeah, your GTX 1050 is barely enough for 3840x2160 (4k) resolution. What is your casing and power supply?

What would you recommend?

Yikes well I will check asap but can’t atm.

Take your time. Shortage on graphic cards. It will be difficult to buy one.

You can try bringing your rig to the shop and let them do the component switch for you on GPU, power supply and casing for a fee. If it is a branded PC like Dell, the upgradeability will be more difficult due to proprietary connectors. You will need a good large casing for RTX 3060 Ti onwards. Graphic cards these days dumps the heat back inside your casing.

Pick either one of these for upgrades
RTX 3080

NZXT C750
Corsair RM750x
Seasonic Focus GX 750W
Adata Core Reactor 750W

Phanteks Eclipse P500A
Fractal Design Define S2
Fractal Design Meshify 2 (or XL)

Ok so.

My case: NZXT S340 Glossy Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Case.

Power Supply: CORSAIR TX-M Series TX550M (CP-9020133-NA) 550W ATX12V v2.4 / EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Semi-Modular Power Supply

Oh and this is my motherboard:
GIGABYTE Z370 HD3 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard.

Side note my nephew actually built this fo rme years ago but I’m unsure I can convince him to craft me a new one, especially during these times.

Yeah, you can upgrade GPU, power supply and casing.

Crap so I DO need a new case? Was hoping this one was roomy enough.
