I was wondering why this is. For me, it's because most armor and weapons have horrible clipping and that really triggers my ocd. But this can't be the reason why they are one of the least played alliance races. Just curious as to the reason why.

Coming out with a Tinker hero class that is limited to Gobbos and Gnomes is the best thing Blizzard could do for there two underappreciated, lesser loved races.
This might also incentivize them to work on said clipping issues.

Hardly anyone plays gnomes
I love hamsters but that doesn't mean playing one is on my bucket list.

Too many real life negative stigmas about many things pertaining to gnomes. Here is some reasons why:
1. Many people perceive short as equalling weak and less intelligent irl.
2. Many people think they look and sound a lot like children even though they are voiced by real life small people and the ones we play as are adults.
3. Many people think mogs look bad in them. Some I agree, but many mogs I think look really awesome on gnomes.
4. Many people want either traditionally sexy or tough looking races. I think gnomes can be both of those, but most don't see it that way.
5. Kind of lacking lore right now.
6. People have friends playing another race who tell them to pick a certain race.
7. Not the racials they would like.
Things like this usually. For me though, just about all these reasons were invalid.

Gnomes were the best Alliance race imo. That was until Void Elves came out but I see them as about equal. Gnomes are still awesome.

The only class I like playing as gnome is warlock because I find the aesthetic hilarious, but I can’t bare myself to hear the gnome cries as warrior or any other melee class it’s cute at first but it wares me down
I know right? Gnomes are great! it's good that blizzard will give them more attention in the coming patches, mechagnomes will be the bomb.
I bet there are more gnomes than monks.
There used to be many more gnomes, but sadly they have all but vanished due to punting & Tauren hooves. ESPECIALLY Tauren hooves, they just have NO clue about where they are stepping!

I'm not a fan of the short/compact body type. It makes it difficult to see armor details. Gnome males also have unappealing faces/hair and generally don't make for good "eye candy". Gnome females can be cute but they just aren't my thing.
If Junker Gnomes really do end up being an allied race, I will be very disappointed that yet another allied race is aesthetically unappealing to me. First the beer gut Kultirans and possibly cyborg gnomes next... its very sad for me.

The only Alliance race better than gnomes, is Dwarves I'm afraid. With the addition of the Dark Irons, this ol' girl isn't getting much love.
