Leveling Speed can be broken down into three pieces: Travel Time, In Combat Time, and Out of Combat Time (Regeneration). The sum of these three pieces equates to your leveling speed.
Travel form was level 30. But you could talent into feral swiftness to have 15% speed increase at level 20, and 30% by level 21. This made cat form a temporary travel form until you actually get travel form. I believe it also increased speed while stealthed, since stealth made you slooooowwwwâŚ
I recall leveling through the classic content. I was stubborn and insisted on trying to keep my professions up as much as possible. Thatâll slow you down significantly, regardless of your classâs ability to excel.
I remember warrior being the worst to level up, they where so slow and died so easily, you could barely handle more then 1 mob, but you greatly power up as you reach the level cap and become one of the best classes in the game.
Yeah, that is why Warrior and Rogue in many ways, are the most fun to level for me. Many classes you get items and you feel âsomewhatâ stronger. More mana, maybe a fraction of a % to crit more often.
With Warrior every piece of gear makes you take less damage, deal more dmg, scales with many of your abilities meaning they do more damage. Its VERY noticeable when you upgrade and that makes every Quest, Dungeon, Raid that much more exciting when you get an upgrade. Once I leveled a Warrior going to a caster just felt so mediocre in comparison.
Also getting an Blue quality 2H or the 2 1H swords from RFD/SM just made you feel OP. Such a cool feeling.
This is so true. The only time this warlock died from 1 to 110 that didnât involve purposefully biting off more than I could chew because I was bored, was getting up to make a pot of coffee while in the Eastern Plaguelands and coming back to find that a bear had killed me. It was good for a laugh.
To me the holy priest is the longest to level if you are going solo, but thatâs the same for any healer, not going to say hardest because any player will level any toon to 60 if they stick with it. I just played a resto shaman back in vanilla and guild support was much stronger back then. The first guild I was in Hearts Blood on Sen Jin flew through leveling because we were running full on groups of 5 most days. Thatâs what I miss most about classic.
Edit: I switched from a shammy to a Warrior B/C the Shaman became a new class over the years and IMO lost its flavor.
I think people are overrating how fast druids are to level. Theyâre good but they arenât that good. Hunter/lock/mage are all not only faster, but significantly faster.
Druids have no downtime plus have some of the fastest movement speeds in game, especially pre-mount.
Mages, no matter how well you play them, still have downtimes. The only benefit they have over druid is direct teleports.
I think we can all agree hunters are the fastest, so lets move on to warlocks and mages.
Warlock: Some folks are dumb and run the affliction build for leveling. The demo build is faster, a lot faster. Not to have a void tank though, but to have a succubus smack stuff around. With master demonology you hit 10% harder with all spells when succ is out and you buffed your pets along the way. You can clear an entire area while druids are goofing around killing things one at a time.
Mage: Blink alone makes you a fast leveler. Just use it to move forward, it has such a short cooldown. Frostbolt lets you complete any quest easily, all group quests are laughable. In trouble? Frost nova. Druids move around faster but when you figure in blink they really donât move around that much faster. If you have an option to AOE grind (not likely when the game releases) then you can rival hunters.
Druid is the 4th fastest leveler imo. Theyâre a clear 4th (easily faster than warrior/rogue/priest/paladin/shaman) but they are 4th.
Every time Iâve used blink, itâs been horribly unreliable.
As for druids, they have base move speed increase through feral talents, they have dash, and they have travel form.
I know druids are good at leveling, I have done it myself in classic. I know druids are good levelers. Weâre talking good vs better here. Druids have excellent leveling tools.
