Notice i said slowest.
Err never mind. I actually read your post. Yeah, Paladins kill slowly and do have to drink, so theyâd be categorized there too. But I think being able to live more easily with self buffs on top of that gives them more of an edge.
I said paladin rogue warrior were the slowest in my original post.
I had a LOT more fun leveling in retail than in vanilla.
If you didnt have a fear of death you never pushed yourself and actually tried to do things.
If you stretch yourself you def can die in retail, also if you sit there spamming 1 or 2 abilities you are gonna be killing at a significantly slower rate and would have no chance at doing any kind of big aoe pull.
There is no difficulty in pulling one mob AAing it down then waiting to pull the next. Slow =/= hard.
Good luck with that when you donât have dynamic spawns, that aoe grinding is going to be a lot slower in classic. Thatâs also assuming everything else on the pserver is accurate.
Thatâs blatantly false. Retail has no skill requirement for leveling at all. Sure you can do ability rotations, but you donât need to; you could also do proper rotations while leveling in vanilla, but it was very mana inefficient and caused you a lot more downtime. Also, every class has way more survivability than they did in vanilla, and more tools to deal with any unforeseen circumstances.
Well to each their own. I enjoyed leveling right up until Wrath, to where it felt like I was on rails and I was playing on a lower difficulty. And I played a Warrior in all three. Then again my favourite franchise was Dark Souls, and Iâm still loving Sekiro.
The only challenge I ever faced in leveling at any point was giving up from boredom, which was MUCH greater during vanilla and BC because the time per level was much higher and playing the game required far less attention.
Only thing that got me through it in vanilla was guildies telling me the game didnât really start till you hit max level. Which I found to be very true. So the improvements to leveling intractability are much better.
So when I am saying its harder, thats like saying whats harder kicking a soccerball or a football. Doing the bare minimum is just as easy, but you can put a lot more technique into kicking a football well.
I strongly disagree with the game not starting until max level, but to each their own. Leveling was a very fun thing and it wasnât just mindlessly questing, so I enjoyed it. You could also make yourself far, far more effective at leveling in vanilla by putting that so-called technique into it, you know.
In fact itâs a lot more effective to do so in vanilla than it is in modern WoW. You wonât really die or have any issues if you donât in modern WoW, but youâll run into a lot of obstacles in vanilla.
Druid and Pally are the hardest.
Well that is a flat lie, there is no way that skill is as big a factor in vanilla as it is in retail for pve content.
This is not true at all. Druids are one of the best levelers - if you play it right. You have little to no downtime, youâre the most mobile (travel form at 20, and with Cat Form you still get the increased speed from talents once you hit the appropriate level), and your damage isnât that bad at all either since it isnât based on your weapon. Plus Paladins, while slow, are much better than Warriors and still better than Rogues.
Lol. In PvE itâs not as obvious, but in PvP itâs immensely obvious. You could do things in vanilla that you canât in modern WoW because of the design of the game as it is now. What does skill in modern WoW have to do with leveling? You can pull entire rooms and areas just fine with or without a lot of skill, especially with heirlooms. You couldnât even really pull more than one mob in most situations in vanilla without a level of skill.
Druid is pretty easy honestly. They feral level, regen mana while doing feral stuff, and move on to the next mob. Itâs like priest leveling with spirit tap except better.
Early levels are pretty painful though.
Well glad to know you like to lie about retail without having played it.
If you want to do massive pulls you either play one of a few specs or you outgear the content without that you are gonna die. Especially if you think you just mindlessly spam 1 or 2 buttons.
This is true for pretty much everyone, so I donât get your point. 1-10 sucks for pretty much everyone. They donât have many spells and they lack what makes them strong - which is usually given at level 10. For Druids, bear form is a great tool and helps a lot. And again, not needing to find upgrades for the weapon is pretty huge.
I quit playing BfA very early into Uldir, so I donât get what you mean by, ânot having played itâ. I leveled most classes too, and no matter what it was or where I was, it was mind numbingly easy and boring. Massive pulls are easy for pretty much everyone, and you can outgear the content with ease with how often you get upgrades.
I was also raiding at the time and that too was easy. I was shocked by how some people still managed to fail easy mechanics.
Yeah but lets face it, at worst itâs 6 hours to level 10 even if youâre being sloppy.
And I mean really sloppy. I can do it in about 2 1/2 hours as a lock after having done it several times. Obviously lock is faster because of the imp but not THAT much faster.
Funny to hear that. I didnât level my rogue to max until TBC, but as far as the lower end part of leveling, say basically pre lvl50, it was mostly the same. I found it far more engaging than my warrior, playing a backstab spec that gouged and KSâd to get the heavy hitting backstabs in. Matched with Remorseless Attacks amongst other talents, mobs could go down pretty quick.
It wasnât the most efficient means of leveling Iâm sure, but it was fun.
I remember ~ 3 hours being quick to me, but that has a lot to do with what zone youâre starting in and what class, like you stated with Warlock, you picked.
Elwynn Forest, at least to me, always felt faster. Teldrassil was just, ughâŚso much runningâŚand those Druid dens, those blasted âwhere the hell am I?â Druid dens!
Just to add, while hunters are considered easy to level, for good reason, theyâre awful before level 10 when you get your pet.
I had a way smoother experience leveling my Warrior 1-10 than my hunter in Vanilla. Rogue was pretty bad 1-10 as well without dual wielding.
Iâve leveled many Night Elves through Teldrassil and I still loathe the cave quests. But itâs still by far my favorite starting zone, itâs beautiful and serene, I stay there as long as possible before moving on to Darkshore.
The only quest I donât do is the one for Zend Foulhoof, he tricked me the first time, but never again.
I think the fastest starting area is probably whichever one youâre most familiar with because you know the quests and you know the routes.
