Can we expect to see the Token on the official hardcore servers?
No.
Give it 12 months and yes.
Then we will do this entire song & dance again and the remaining players for classic will quit. It’ll become just another PW2 game, but hopefully I can get a fun few months of fun from HC while it’s new and pure.
adding token to wrath makes sense
they won’t do it to era / SoM 2 / HC, the true classics
Sure man, whatever you have to tell yourself.
Time makes fools of us all.
I hope not but who knows. If vanilla keeps growing in population like it has been Blizz might decide they want to milk that playerbase too.
Almost 100% yes.
oh look, little miss “there will never be official hardcore servers” has a prediction
Yeah I predict they will be bad, and people will cry.
Yes. I wouldn’t doubt it at this point.
I think there will be an attempt at RMT by sellers in HC but I don’t think it will be as popular/prevalent as non-HC gold selling.
Sure you bought 10 bajillion gold, now you died, where is that gold going? Essentially I don’t see there being a major need, maybe at 60 there would be, but not while leveling.
They’ll add a respawn token for $60 eventually.
If Blizzard thinks the demand and profits will outweigh the negativity/sub losses linked with it, yes.
That would defeat the whole purpose of HC and more than likely kill HC servers off pretty fast.
I know there are people who would be ok with this, but those people probably won’t end up playing HC long enough anyways.
You don’t think players would be tempted to buy gold for mounts at level 40? If anything, gold on hardcore would be worth more since it’s harder for players to obtain.
I think those who want to would for sure, I just think that a format based on “death=delete”, including that characters inventory, wouldn’t be as big a market for gold buyers.
Except most players aren’t planning on dying. Buying gold can give the feeling that it’s making you stronger thus living longer.
You’ll never die thinking it was from having too much gold or items.
nobody in HC plans to die while playing but they still do…not really a strong statement to make.
I never said nobody on HC would buy gold, which is what I think you incorrectly took from my post. I put forth the thought that gold buying in HC realms is probably not going to be as common as it is elsewhere due to how HC is structured. HC also disallows AH use and most trading, which is what I would assume people who buy gold would want to use to spend that gold.
I didn’t say it would be as common necessarily. I did say it will be more valuable though.
Not sure what the exact # of customers loss versus premium added will be for the bots, but looking at other games with a similar format the hardcore premium outweighs the smaller market in terms of conversion value.
We would have to assume blizzard puts restrictions on trading which I wouldn’t count on. Heavy trading restrictions would be the main deterrent for botting I believe.
people will absolutely still buy gold on HC
HC is just like real life, everybody walks around thinking they are immortal
