Hardcore is a fad. It will come and go - just like every other gimmick in WoW. Soon there will be “gamemodes/challenges” that involves other aspects of the game. I do not see Hardcore servers - no matter if it has hard pre-set rules already implemented, or normal servers with the community making the rules - lasting longer than three to six months. The average player will play Hardcore a few times, die several times, and barely make it to the end-game at 60 with pre-BiS gear at least one time. It is such a niche thing for such a small group of individuals. A majority of those individuals will eventually stop playing out of frustration or lack of interest and want to play something different. Hardcore is just another little hit of dopamine. It will last a bit because it’s different, then die off like everything else. Everyone else will either play fresh, or continue to beg for Classic+ or whatever. Even then, if Classic+ happens, the same exact thing will happen. There is nothing Blizzard can do to solve the real problems with WoW, and I seriously doubt Microsoft will do anything either. Be happy that you have what we got now, because in the near future, none of it will matter.
Who cares if it’s just a fad?
Enjoy the ride or don’t.
Appeal it!
Another one that says it’s just a fad lmao. Must be the same guy on different alts.
Like which ones?
The entirety of classic versions was a fad…for most
wrath is more of a fad than HC
WoW is just a fad. . . It will come and go, so why are you playing it?
Life’s just one big fad that will come and go
Yeah, so?
We don’t care if it is fad or not. We’re happy and enjoying HC.
We are having fun and this is what really matter.
(By WE i mean Me and all others players who enjoy HC. If you don’t like it, u’re not part of this. So don’t quote this saying “I don’t like it” )
all games are fads. some last a long time like world of warcraft. HC just continues it onward. who knows how long it will last.
I don’t partake in HC more than just to mess around when Im bored or tired, but the community has been going strong since SoM and has massively surged. Is it niche? Yeah. Will numbers inevitably fall after some time? Of course. But that’s MMOs and challenge modes for them in general. The game will survive with it’s niche group that has been literally doing HC for well over a year.
So weird to be so pressed people are having fun. Everything ends inevitably, so why even bother then? Just an odd bait.
It’s definitely a fad but I’m grateful cause it could help justify a reset back to vanilla, which would give them an opportunity to avoid making the same mistakes they did with tbc wrath and beyond. I say go crazy with it before Blizzard literally destroys the old world and/or adds RDF for the crybabies to boot.
HC would be well served with seasonal resets that give new toys/cosmetics/emotes for each ten levels you get. Would keep it interesting for a long time. The game definitely feels right to be played in a hardcore rule set. All it needs now is the carrot on a stick reward.
Not sure what the OP is on about, we have Era servers. Probably for a long time. What more do you really need?
I dig the gloomy vibe and all but if you didn’t lose all hope a couple of years and hit the acceptance phase that its all over and has been for a very long time you’re just late to the party with this one.
Era the game and Era the server clusters have more than enough room for people who wanna do HC or whatever fad they want, assuming that’s the case with HC which I dont really have an opinion on.
I read the OP and realized it’s been a long time since I listened to Coast to Coast AM.
Games are only popular if big streamers are playing it. Just look at xaryu. Went from 1k or less average viewers to a 25k record while playing wow HC. Other streamers saw that and immediately jumped on the bandwagon now a bunch of big streamers and small streamers are hoping they can get some of that sticky icky. I tried it out, got to level 25 and died. Didn’t really care as I was only playing to see how far I could get. I have no urge to redo it again and I honestly don’t know how people can keep releveling after they die but to each their own. The starting zones are awful and gameplay doesnt actually get fun until after 20 when there’s less players in the zone. But man those beginning zones have so many players it’s tilting.
Made a whole thread to make a bad take.
HC will end up getting a server, we’ll be out of your hair so players like yourself can stop crying, give it time and wipe those tears.
Lol and you really think blizzard will monitor appeals? Get a clue.
Do you attend celebrations (i.e. birthdays, weddings) and say “this is just a day. it will come and go. just like every other happy moment in life. Eventually you will be sad” ?
Because that is how you come across.
Did your post need to be made?
Was it helpful?
Are people glad they read it?
The answer is No to all three. just be a nicer person, man.
