Is there a HC community that has only the rule: Don’t Die? the classichc website has a ton of unnecessary rules (like only doing a dungeon 1 time)

the rules make sense, friend. if you allow dungeon spam, you will have lots of people who just do that, making the world less active.
and rules against trading make our hardcore community immune to the ravages of botting. and it makes all the items you find 10,000x more exciting.

yes this is why people are waiting for a real hc server. extra rules and mods have power over your progression/appeals is dumb.

With the rules, no one can buy their way to max level.
The rules are only supported by the addon we have chosen to use. Don’t use the addon or write another that operates with a simpler rule set.

the addon is mostly there for community purposes
install the addon, join a HC guild, and you get an alert whenever someone dies

OP said they didn’t want all the extra rules other than only one death so no point in using an add-on that locks you out of using the AH and mail.

That’s kinda what I’m trying to tell them. You guys are so nasty to anyone that doesn’t play HC exactly the same way you do. Poor normal RP people pretty much lost the only RP server for Era.

The rules are only in place because we share a server with Softcore players. If we had our own server there would be no rules only Perma Death.
Hopefully Blizzard comes through and gives the Hardcore community a server. I had a dream last night that we got one x)
In a perfect world the only rule is Perma Death. GIVE US HARDCORE.

Oh stop with this BS! The ruleset is not to keep people from dungeon spamming or stopping bots or anything like that. The rule set is there to help streamers content because they already play with their viewers and dont want other players stealing the show. Your silly dungeon spamming and trading rules go right out the window at level 60, and thats bc they cant raid without doing it. Open your eyes man. I would have laughed at anyone telling me to do this silly crap when i played diablo 2 hardcore.
You play a single player simulator that is meant to boost streamer views. Thats it, thats all.

its literally to not " cheat " or collude with Softcore.
Believe me I wish the only rule was no Death. I don’t like the Solo Self Found rules.
Honestly, with all the extra rules it feels more like you are RPing as someone who is just incredibly antisocial.
No trade, no asking for help, can’t party with other people (except for dungeons and only once) etc etc… Just makes the game a single player experience 99% of the time lol.
If you like the extra rules, by all means play the game that way – I believe that video games are meant to be played the way you wish to play them (as long as you’re not ruining other peoples’ experiences). But I wish hardcore elitists would stop pretending that all the crazy rules somehow make it the pinnacle of RP or the “best” way to play WoW xD

I think the one rule for a hardcore server should be “don’t die”. And any extra challenges should be via add-ons – or even better, if Blizzard gave ingame challenge options for the server. I love the add-on though. They even have additional challenges within the add-on you can select like Nudist. Do 1-60 hardcore with no armor, just a weapon.
But yeah, the baseline should just be one death.

The idea isn’t to think anything less of those who are part of the hc community with all the rules. I think people should be free to play however they want. I’m just simply looking for a HC Classic-Era community that doesn’t have all the extra rules. If they want hc appeals, no grouping, 1 dungeon run then I support this. But, it’s not for me.
