I’ve played HC since its inception. And I had a blast playing it! Met a lot of great people while leveling. But then life happened at the turn of the year (2025 to 2026), and I have only logged in when my new schedule has allowed me to. C’est la vie.
However, since around July or August, when I have been able to log in and play here and there, I’ve experienced more and more dc’s. Luckily, my cautious nature hasn’t taken on any mob situation that has been completely unmanageable, thanks to pots, elixirs, buffs, food, target dummies, class abilities, etc. And when things got too unstable, I just logged out of the game and went and did something else unrelated to gaming.
I had 3 days off this week and completely intended to play all 3 of those days to decompress and relax from my physically exhausting job. And I have experienced non-stop disconnects all 3 of these days, with each day progressively getting worse (today being the worst). I’ve checked updates to my laptop, driver updates, rebooted the router, performed /ipconfig /release and rebooted my laptop, checked other network settiings, and everything is optimized. Yet the disconnects continue repeatedly.
At first the disconnects were while I was in combat on one of my Warriors. After almost dying in Redridge, I managed to escape, heal up, and get her back to Stormwind. I dc’d twice on the flight there from Redridge. Again when I flew over to Ironforge (as I didn’t want to risk the tram). I switched characters to level up enchanting on a Mage. I’d dc’ in the middle of enchanting, going from one area in IF to another, after teleporting to SW, walking through Elwynn to the enchanting trainer in Tower of Azora, and even dc’d just standing at the AH buying a couple more dusts. It’s just constant WOW51900319 disconnects, and I’m just really sick and tired of it. It’s absolutely maddening! It takes A LOT of patience to level in Hardcore, and I’ve had a lot of it over the years, but my patience has expired.
I have characters over on Classic Era and do not experience the same disconnects I do on Hardcore. I will be moving 20+ of my characters over to Classic Era, consolidating them there to a smaller “team”, and no longer worry about dying, Hardcore addons, making sure I have enough bag space for the arsenal of survival tools, or getting upset over incessant disconnects.
I know this post will most likely be thrown in a pool of other complainers, possibly about the same topic. But at this point, I’m tired of trying on Hardcore.
Almost made it to 60 on a Warlock on a different account (got to 55), but since that account is no longer in my household, and he moved to a different state, I went back to my own account to play. Super fun times getting there while it lasted! I thought I could make a comeback on my own characters on my own account. But not with these constant dc’s.
