Nope, they’re not as I type this.

Earlier they WERE in the Era list marked ‘hardcore’ but they were removed a bit later.

That’s different though. If something happens to the guild bank Blizzard is within their legal rights to be able to just shrug and say “Tough luck, champ.”. Servers are a bit different. They start becoming financially liable if they just get rid of entire servers, some of which were peoples only reason for spending money, without some way to migrate off beforehand or give some sort of heads up that the servers being shut down.

No it’s not. You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. Anything, and I mean ANYTHING you do at a professional level should have a backup in case of emergencies. Not only is it good business practice but it’s just common sense. Hell yeah they made backups before futzing with anything. How else do you think rollbacks happen? Do you think it’s just computer magic that makes it so? What do you think a recovery disc/drive of your operating system is?

Get a friggin’ clue bruh.

IDC about the logistics they better not have lost our servers idc how they did it. They best bring them back.

Honestly, there’s probably a collision.

Hardcore servers had their own ruleset.
Tabs were likely meant to have different rulesets.

Merging them, they probably thought the tags were enough.
The tags probably didn’t poll correctly.

So they’re most likely just disconnected until the resolution path is decided.

Not to mention we still have 20ish minutes until the maintenance is slated to “officially” end, so no sense jumping to bold conclusions like “they deleted HC servers NOOOOOO!”

Don’t know, don’t use it. Makes sense for somebody, for sure.
Me? Just buy a new hard drive.

These are LIVE servers, and the cost to backup data can be very expensive.

There are likely some features kept, but the nature of data loss is loss.

You don’t know what you don’t know, and the guild bank feature was pure loss.
The data? Gone.

Is this different? We have no idea.

Nope, as ex-Blizzard employees said at the time they have BACKUPS holding the data, Microsoft was simply not prepared to pay staff to recover the lost data.
