Hey I am just in the middle of leveling, but Im wondering how some fights that have like guaranteed kill mechanics like Vaelstraz the corrupt are going to work on Hardcore.
Is the mechanic going to be changed so the dps race isn’t a race against your whole raid blowing up?
There are other fights with similar type stuff so im just wondering if that was something already thought up with a solution
Personally I’m skeptical Blizzard wants to invest the dev time/$$ that retuning encounters/quests/zones would take. Esp. if it is technically possible to beat without death.
But in this vein I’ve been curious if/how they would handle changes to the BRD key quest, given that in the original version you have to be dead to pick up the quest.
Did they/will they change that, or does every BRD run need a rogue with sufficient lockpick?
If you have to ask this question, you probably aren’t getting into a serious HC raid group.

Pretty sure the key quest was mentioned in the early announcement of changes being made, i.e. that it wouldn’t kill you. Same as the quest in Tanaris that requires you to drink the potion that kills you so you can talk to the ghost. For that one, they did note the potion would reduce you to 1 hp, so be sure you heal up before venturing outside the graveyard to find the ghost or you’ll end up a hyena’s lunch.
It’s a fair question, I was of the impression players didn’t get to test a lot of these mechanica on PTR so they’re still unknown at this stage?

HC needs a simulation mode for raids without any reward.
For vael you just hearthstone before it kills you (burning adrenaline makes HS instant also).
I don’t think there’s any other guaranteed kill mechanics.
All the other quests where you die (e.g. BRD) were supposedly changed to not require death anymore.
The simulation mode is called every other regular classic server.
HC is much easyer then it was in SOM the alliance will just burn it down maybe one or two bombs will go out
