Hardcore Protection

We need some type of better protection on these servers i know we all accepted the terms when we started hardcore but this is getting silly.

when the server shutdowns down (unexpectedly) or gets ddos’ed we should get a res or something in that time frame,

It sucks but you don’t even get a do-over when you get griefed by another player. Getting griefed by a ddos attack isn’t any different. Just have to “go agane”. Sorry for the loss of your character though.

I was thinking about playing some hardcore but idk, seems like it’s a risky time for it

Skill issue

Maybe the ddos attacker is Tinyviolin and its finally judgement day or whatever he said.

How exactly is it a “skill issue” when hundreds of players die when the server whacks out?

Oh, I get it. You’re mocking people who you see as inferior for playing more than you do.

More likely Blizzard has saved a few dollars by downgrading their servers or server security personnel, making them less resistant to DDOS attacks.

You seem upset.

You seem upset that you have to share the forum with other players you don’t think deserve to play your game.

Isn’t part of it being ready for any scenario?

Do they give 2nd chances to people whos power goes out because someone drove their car into a telephone pole?

I think it is fair when Blizzard knows it is a DDOS, that they roll back to prevent deaths on hardcore.

Can’t Denial of Service attacks be prevented with an “I am not a robot” box on login?

Of course if they did that several hundred people would howl and scream out of the millions who play the game and they would be convinced they “speak for the community” and “no one asked for this” but it might solve the problem.

It’s a burden to bear, that’s for sure.

As much as something like a DDoS or server issues suck, I’d have to side with Blizzard’s hands-off, ‘no exceptions’ policy to character deaths on hardcore. Because if there are any exceptions, players will find a way to game it or will just ask for more exceptions to be made. It’s better to just take the position of any and all deaths being irreversible, no matter the circumstances.

The short answer is no, it can’t be prevented in this manner.

Why not? Are the bots smart enough to pick the “I am not a robot” out of the list?

Idk don’t play hc servers
Not like they make any sense at all

I just died because the game just crashed while I was swimming. I was going to get the book from the Necromancer quest in Tirisfal Glades, it wasn’t even that long in the water. But it was enough. And now I’m probably going to stop playing, after pointlessly evolving 4 characters and losing them to server problems.

What can you expect from an indie company XD

totally disappointed, and without hope

HC servers are just for folks who peaked in middle school.

So good riddance to bad rubbish.
