Hardcore population

Is it worth even starting a char? Would groups be hard to find and get together? I dont want to level in a dead world.

Still worth even if its your first time playing. Self-found is great for solo play and its evergreen content. In my opinion once a server starts to age in classic it isn’t as fun. People have higher lvl char to help and the economy is flooded with gear to make your journey very easy. Self found you have to reley on yourself and your luck. It might suck a little not being able to find a group for dungeons and hard quests but they aren’t necessary.

As people are re-rolling even now it is not a problem.
But as fewer people re-roll now compared to when the HC servers started, you might not find a group in one minute  It most certainly is not a dead world.

I would say that before lvl 30 you shouldn’t have issues forming a group because of the nature of hardcore and people going agane. In the later stages of the game you might hit a wall when it comes to group forming.

True, but there are good guilds. Guilds really are a big part of HC.
