Hardcore Death Alerts

Yall, I don’t know what to do. I am at the point where I am beyond frustrated with internal system that Blizzard created for death alerts. I use the addon and it’s fine. However, I can’t shut off the Blizzard one. I go into the setting and change the “Hardcore Death Alerts” to NEVER and it always switches back automatically. So before I know it, my screen is being spammed by both alert systems.

How do I disable the internal system for good?

I sympathize with you because I too am at my wits end with this pony trot sfx. How do I disable the sound of my pony running, but not other sound effects??

Serious replies only pls.

There was an addon … sonething like irritating WoW noises

For the default death log

  1. press esc key → click “options” → search “death” and enable/disable as you need
  2. type /join hardcoredeaths OR in your case /leave hardcoredeaths
  3. Optional step: mouse over your chat window, right click on the “general” tab, go to “Global Channels” on the left, click the color square and adjust to red. But in your case this is not needed since you just want to leave the channel.

If Jwow’s suggestions don’t help, its likely that its one of your add-ons causing the problem, I know I have them turned off on most of my HC chars simply because I don’t really care to see death alerts, unfortunately you will probably need to go through all your add-ons to figure out which one is causing the problem.
