They give a warning you must agree to before you make your character. No appeals. You’re on your own. As it should be.

I need an adult.
I am an adult >:)
in most games where you create a hardcore character there’s usually some sort of warning
It just occurred to me, no immortality at 60. That will make raiding a bit scary.
Why would there be immortality at 60? Dead = dead, hardcore = 1 life. in Diablo IV if you reach lv 100 after hundreds of hours and make a mistake and die the char is gone.
Nothing against it, just in my observation in the hardcore community getting to 60 meant immortality to make raiding not a nightmare. That first MC for a lot of people is gonna be scary or very expensive lol
… what? Which HC community had immortality at 60?
Diablo players go through the same thing, whether or not to attempt the uber boss at the end of the game or push to higher level mobs (since mobs go up to level 154 in that game while max chara level is 100, and the 110+ stuff is not trivial at all)… It removes the essence of hardcore if you can be safe while raiding, it’s a risk and you will only go in to one with people you trust and know won’t ruin the experience, with everyone learning the mechanics before hand.
The addon that made this thing so popular?
Lol. No it is death = delete. 60 or 1
Lol yes. https://i.imgur.com/eS2mMRp.png
Anyone who was raiding HC didn’t become immortal, they stayed HC. You had the choice to become immortal or raid with 1 life.
Yeah that was sorta lame, because it divided the community late game. Horde never even got a solid raid going the entire stretch I heard, and Alliance had only one large guild for it.
Edit; It should always be Hardcore, whether you choose to retire it at 60 or Raid… your death should be forfeit in a HC game.
Everyone who was playing HC stayed HC there was almost nobody who went “immortal.” Horde never got a solid raid going because 80% of HC players were Alliance.
