Hard Disk Failure

My WD Blue 1TB HDD gave up the ghost in 2018 after 10+ years of heavy use. It made some grinding noises occasionally and then failed. Fortunately, I had already migrated Windows to an SSD. I replaced it with a WD Black 2TB HDD and after 5 years of next to no use, I’m hearing the same grinding sounds again. Is it really possible that my HDD is dying already? Obviously I won’t be buying any more HDDs.

Lol, nvm. It turns out it was a kitchen appliance, like an ice maker.

Nvme is the answer!

I feel sorry for those peasants who attach SSD’s to a SATA 6 interface
