Hard Content Server - Not for Casuals

I have the idea to introduce one or more Hard Content Servers.

Starting Conditions

A hard content server does not support server transfer. Death Knights and Demon Hunters begin at level 1 in the race starting area. Only the starting areas of humans, dwarfs, night elves, orcs, tauren and undead are available.

EXP, Level Up and talents!

You can still collect EXP to unlock talents and abilities, but your level will not increase anymore. Do not worry, you can keep leveling up.
Each area in World of Warcraft scales to your level. Heavy areas are a maximum of 6 level above you, easy areas are at least 6 level below you.
In addition to the normal quests, there are now level up quests, because you can no longer increase levels with EXP, you will increase your level with the new quest type. A level brings you some additional stats, as before.

Active Content-Areas // The fog of war

Every week, the area in which you can play around changes.
There is fog of war over many areas, in which your view is severely limited and you can not see the level of the opponents, also lurk there more opponents and these are also found on ways.
In capitals you can see which areas are not affected by the fog of war and where you can play without any problems.

For example:
If the Outlands are affected by the Fog of War this week, you can continue to quest, gain experience, level up, and even enter raids and dungeons. The open world is only affected by tougher conditions.

Beginner Protection

The first country you start in is never affected by the Fog of War. (Durotar, Teldrassil, Mulgore, Dun Morogh, …)
From level 5 you will be ordered to your capital to discover a new continent.
Depending on whether you visit Northend, the Outlands or Pandaria depends on the current week.
There is only one active content continent, which is recommended to players. Everyone else is affected by the fog of war.
For Classic countries, it is different which countries are affected. But it is only possible to reach the maximum level on Classic countries.

What are Level Up Quests?

You don’t get level ups by EXP, only through Level Up Quests.
Here’s are some examples of a Level Up quest:
(You don’t need accept this quests,
you can fulfill the conditions before accepting the quest.)

Level Up Quest for Level 2 - Alliance/Stormwind
-Required to be a Alliance Race
-Required to be level 1
-Absolve 20 quests in Elwynn Forest.
-Discover the complete Elwynn Forest.
-Defeat Hogger.

Level Up Quest for Level 3 - Alliance/Stormwind
-Required to be a Alliance Race
-Required to be level 2
-Stop the Defias in Westfall.
-Defeat Edwin Van Cleef.

Level Up Quest for Level 3 - Alliance/Ironforge
-Required to be a Alliance Race
-Required to be level 2
-Do your service in Thelsamar.
-Defuse the bomb at the Stonewrought Dam

Are there only 3 ways to level up?

Until level 5 yes.
From level 5 you can travel to unknown continents (these are all continents except Kalimdor and the eastern kingdoms.)
In Nordend you can do Level Up Quests in Dalaran,
in the Outlands you can do it in Shattrath,
and in every continent there is a new neutral level up quest for both factions.

What activities can be required in a level-up quest?

-Quests
-Dungeons
-Reputation
-Raids
-PvP
-Battlegrounds

Everything can be required of you.
However you are not forced to any content!
As with the Level Up Quests examples above,
While you must master a dungeon for Level 3 in Stormwind, you may continue to quest in Ironforge.

Nobody gives you your way
you decide how you experience the world.

Does that mean that I can complete every raid at level 5?

No, the first easy raids will be accessible at level 10.
The heaviest raids, like ICC, SW or DS, are opened at maximum level (level 60).
However, a level 60 can not do a level 10 raid solo.
And some level 10 raids are very hard and should not be visited until level 20-30.

You can make raids even harder!

Raid content is to easy for you?
In Raids that are in the Fog of War, your stats are decreased by -20%.
But every Dropp in the Raid is 20% better.

One, two or three raids will be deadly!!
In deadly Raids your stats are decreased by -50%.
But every Dropp in the Raid is 50% better.
(Are you good enough to get deadly equip?)

Obviously there is much work to do, when Hard Content Server will come.

And of course, the balancing will be horrible.
But it will be pretty cool and could be better than WoW - Classic.

This is only an idea. Blizzard, do something with it!

It’s not a hardcore server unless death deletes your character and you have to start over.

Give it some Rogue Legacy progression if you must, but I want to know that if I see someone running around at max level in something less than a year then they EARNED IT.

Not a bad idea…I mean I wouldn’t play it…but…there are many who like things to be a big challenge…this would be good for them…

No, OP, just no.

Us casuals make up the greater portion of the population and the population doesn’t need to be split anymore than it already is. We all pay the same each month for a sub, so we all deserve the have fun on the same podium level as everyone else. You don’t deserve more from the game just because you want to no-life it and be rude to others.

Is this a “I dont want that othe rplayer have more fun than me.”?

you do you OP. I would never bother with that place but you do you.

I would tell Blizzard to not bother wasting resources to cater to a very small % of the players who wants a darksouls would of warcraft.

I think Darksouls sucks because it has nothing going for it other than its difficulty

But you do you OP.

Dark Souls overall isn’t a hard game until like +10 and whips.

Just whips, and nothing else.

No, it’s a “I believe in fairness” kind of thing.

This sounds absolutely awful.

Pretty much. How dare you want to challenge yourself with harder content! Also it reeks of entitlement.

They made the game (more) casual because it was dumb to spend resources on a small percentage of the playerbase, but sure, let’s have them spend resources on a small percentage of the playerbase.

Already a terrible idea. These classes progression isn’t designed to be from level one.

Impressive OP. Now, if we could only come up with a description of what a “Casual” player is that people could agree on…yeah.

No you don’t addicts and Chinese people do

Not a horrible idea-- It’s been suggested in some sort of fashion throughout the years; Just don’t believe Blizzard would go through with it.

Classic is waiting for you

I like your idea, but FUN DETECTED. Wont happen.

You called?
