Yeah, I can see that. They’re about comparable for me. Crazies will find any excuse to be crazy. lol
I didn’t. You said Black Friday sale means nothing to you as an Aussie, and I just meant Fri 13th doesn’t mean anything to most people either. It’s fun to have something to blame all your bad luck on for a day though.

Defcon 5 = Zomg, it’s raining.
Defcon 4 = Friday 13th shenanigans
Defcon 3 = New Year’s fireworks
Defcon 2 = Full moon
Defcon 1 = All the above at once

Well, Friday the 13th is when Christ has died. With the absence of Christ, Devil comes in.
I am not superstitious. But there was a day in my life when I was young that I cant forget. There was a series of bad luck happened to me.
I was about to step off the bus. It was still moving but the door was open. For some reason, I stepped out and I fell on the floor giving me a slight wound/scratch on my left arm when I tumbled at the street floor.
Then I realized that I was wearing my new favorite watch. It got a big scratch on its glass.
Then when I was walking towards the next bus ride, a stranger came to me and held me up with a knife. The stranger took my money.
And when I reached my destination, the store I want to visit is closed.
I should have not left my house on the first place. It was Friday the 13th. It maybe just a coincidence. But I really felt something unusual was there on me (like the devil) the whole day.
I just cant forget that day.

Yeah. I’m aware of the historical stuff but that was really the first time I remember the expression in “wide use.”
