I wish all Americans a happy 4th of July! I’m not from the USA, but I am glad for America’s existence in the world. America has made the world a better and safer place. Thank you! God bless the USA! May America continue to prosper and keep the world safe!
Happy 4th!
(For the OP)
What would you call Van Wilder if he was Russian?
A Stallin’ Grad
Happy Birthday America you earned it.
“god” is not real.
Hot take: this is the same person.
They stopped doing fireworks here ever since covid, unfortunately, but hey, at least I have my cherry, lime, and blue raspberry bomb pops!
Still though, I miss pulling out a chair with my dad and watching the fireworks.
It was similar when I went to Lake Havasu in Arizona last year for Independence Day. The fireworks were a joke. Lasted maybe 10 minutes and nothing really lit up the sky.
The time of year you can buy as many explosives as you want and nobody bats an eye. Happy 4th of July everyone!
Happy 4th! Suck it, Britain!
This land is your land, and this land is my land
From California to the New York island
From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and me
Everyone either missed the intent of this post, caught it and chose to ignore it (honestly the right call), or I am simply too jaded and cynical at this point.
Either way, I want a cheeseburger.
How’s them boots tastin?
I mean, Hot Topic and Spencers are closing early today, so I guess you have to start early with all that edge.
You’re to jaded… and so am I.
While America still tries to be a shining example for the world today, it has dulled and tranished over time. It within all of us to improve our still great and vibrant country.
Love your neighbors, respect your elderly, and try to make the world you live in a little better each day. Remember those we lost. Not just the ones that served, but the ones we hold dear: our friends and family.
Enjoy the freedoms that we have and fought for and should continue to fight for. Respect all cultures, listen to all veiw points, and trust in each other to overcome all obstacles and the threats of tyranny that we’ve always overcome.
Live the best life you can and be proud of who you are.
I am not an American, but rather a citizen of the EU. I’ve picked NA servers by accident well over a decade ago (don’t blame me, I was a clueless kid), but I wouldn’t take that decision back for anything. Sure, I play with ~210ms latency; but the friends, guilds, pvp groups etc. I’ve made here… that’s priceless. I grew up in this game, and being in American servers has also exposed me to every-day English better than any schooling could, which in turn contributed tremendously my love of the language and its literature (With the former having unlocked before me tremendous opportunities a few years back, and the latter even becoming my academic major to this day).
So, yes, I LOVE America… At least what it stood for when it was established. I just listened earlier today to a YouTube video titled ’ “Atlas Shrugged”: America’s Second Declaration of Independence '… And it really struck home. I genuinely believe we are facing today a world that has forgotten (and even turned in spite against) the greatest values of modernity and civilization, probably best represented by the Declaration of Independence of the United States: The individual’s rights to live out their lives safely and freely, and to fulfil their aspirations and potential as a human being in the “Pursuit of Happiness”.
I just hope that there is enough sanity left in the world to continue the propagation of these values against their resurging old, new, and newly clothed cult(urally) dominant regressive, medieval alternatives (IMO most-commonly found in academia, online and spreading to non-Nzoth-cultists via corporate entertainment media… All the doomsaying and nihilism out there is not just anti-American or anti-Western. Simply reviewing history shows these pre/post-modern trends/ideologies are fundamentally anti-human… Let alone look at the tribalism out there)!
With this slightly serious, but cheerfully hopeful ode to America from a non-American… Happy 4th of July!
Or, because the US has been absolutely none of these things since maybe the Korean War, I’m unwilling to suspend my disbelief that this “America, f%#@ yeah” BS wasn’t meant to be a dig.
I’m not edgy, I’m old and bitter.
Sure, Jan. Back to the old folks’ home.
Naw, think I’ll pull up a chair. Hang out some. This is my lawn, after all.
