so about 10-12 days ago there was an unwelcome return of these things

can anyone glean anything useful from this dump after a (kernel?) panic in the window system?

these problems were frequent at the start of SL, lowering graphics settings and resolution helped, also putting a fan on computer aluminum case. over time, they became less and less and prior to 10-12 days ago, they were gone.

this is an unwelcome return, someone stepped on fixes or something

I am also experiencing the return of the hangs and freezes, particularly when completing a quest, entering a new zone, falling into the maw while on someone else’s two-seater mount, walking into the archivist’s cave, up against a wall while fighting some enemies in the maw. Sometimes it will correct itself after hanging for a minute, other times I have to force quit the app.

It seems like every time there is a substantial patch, these quest turn-in hangups return or worsen. The quest and zoning hangups are constant, the freezes and force quit requirement is maybe 1-2 times a day depending on what I’m doing.

yeah, that’s remarkably similar to my experience,

sometimes freezes for a minute and recovers, sometimes the freeze crashes the mac UI and it kicks me back to the login screen without a hard crash, and sometimes there’s a hard crash (reboot)

this mirrors my experience in early SL, as I said before, these things were pretty much gone until something happened recently, as mentioned in OP

I keep fiddling with graphics settings, not sure if it’s helping

EDIT: the change to old behavior (hangs, crashes, and resets) happened with whatever recent patch destroyed FPS

I’ve experimented with the settings, as well, with no change. This morning I did a Korrak’s Revenge battleground and had constant stuttering. It seemed to have no consistent reason for occurring, but made playing very choppy. At one point the game completely froze in the middle of a giant fight and I was dead by the time the game unfroze itself. I don’t recall the one I did prior to this morning being as bad. Thankfully, I can do a number of things without this cropping up, but it is often enough to be an issue when it does occur.
