Hand of the Protector

I’m leveling my prot paly tank and I see this Hand of the Protector talent at 45, but I can’t find any documentation on how much more it heals. Anyone can fill me in?

It doesn’t, does it?

Edit:
Oh, no, they changed the talent, ok… I’ll have a look around and see if I can find anything

Edit:2

Ok, so, it seems like it just makes the “self cast” portion of Prot’s WoG (rank 2 of WoG learned at lvl 34) work on other people as well… So, up to 300% increased healing, depending on how hurt they are.

I did some testing on my lvl 45 paladin…

  • Word of Glory healed for 1,052 at full hp.
  • 50% hp it healed for 2,510.
  • 25% hp it healed for 3,114.
  • 10% hp it healed for 3,838.

I tested this by just building up holy power points and flying up in the air and dropping myself and healing after.

+0% at 100% hp, +300% at 0 hp. Scaling linearly

I’ve been playing with it in some mid level keys, 15-18 range, and its healing is actually nuts. When using it to heal my party Its basically a no CD Lay on Hands every time I get 3 extra HP to spend.

Yeah, it seems really potent.

“Hand of the Protector” is only worth taking if you plan on healing other people. If you only plan on healing yourself i would not bother taking it. I run it at end game just to assist in Raid/Mythic+ with healing low players. Instead of getting the healing bonus based on your missing health, it takes the missing health from the person you are healing and applies the bonus to healing, it does not increase the bonus % to healing, it only changes who you get the bonus % from, that being you or your target.
