That is literally what the Devs want. I agree with their design choice for Tanks to do high burst.
No idea where people got this from? It just isn’t the case or their design. Damage is incredibly important to Tanks and decides whether they are viable or not. They require high burst and damage to sustain themselves.
Tanks have removed threat and had damage build in it’s place for several expansions now but in DF they actually improved it. They 100% should be competitive on the damage meters with Dps. That is why Blizz keeps buffing their damage.
Also keep in mind more damage means more mitigation. This is the new design direction as well that was increased in DF. Honestly no idea where PvP players got this idea that Tanks are only supposed to be some meat shield. It’s just misinformation at this point.
If you want to deal damage, go to a DPS class. If you want to tank damage, roll a tank. If you want to heal, heal.
It’s in the name you buffoon.
Why should tanks be competitive with DPS on the DPS charts? That removes DPS from the game.

Tell the Devs that then!! Why do Dps have insane healing? Why do Healers do damage? You are being hypocritical and picking your bias.
We haven’t had class roles in many years. We have WotLK if we want that but Retail it doesn’t exist. I have said several times I would love for Class roles to return to Retail. That we should gut Dps healing and their mitigation. Make healers heal.
It doesn’t remove Dps and that is why the Devs decided to make Tanks competitive with Dps in damage. It’s literally what they intended to do. So they did it. Then they added several abilities for multiple tanks where Damage is critical to Mitigation.
Don’t get mad at me you don’t know how the game is designed now. Tanks are required to do massive Dps now in M+ and Raid and their viability strongly relies on it. Obviously this transfers over to PvP where Tanks should also fill that high burst roll.

Hey mortalx i hope you are doing ok i think people are just afraid of us prot paldins and dont know which buttons to click but i think thats on them and the true reason why blizzard has to nerf us and our abilities like hand of the protector really players are just nancys and probably their parents not making them mind when they were younger
