So im pretty sure this spell used to tell you how long your imps would be up, just like call dreadstalkers does, and now im not seeing it on my UI anywhere. But i still see the dreadstalkers duration, Anyone know why this is?
Dreadstalkers are out for 12 seconds and then they are gone, so they are essentially just dot tracking which is all the blizz ui does by default to my recollection. Since you are constantly spawning Imps, the only way they could track their damage over time duration on the spell icon is by giving you most time remaining, which isn’t really helpful for how Imps and Implosion function. A weakaura can track your individual Imp spawns if that’s what you are after, but i don’t recall this ever being possible in game without an aura.
Biggest prob with HoG is the lack of tracking of imps, there should be individual trackers per hog that has a number to tell us how many imps are out from that cast.
Small mixture of factors.
1- Wild Imps don’t actually have a real fixed duration anymore, they have 100 energy, and when they cast 6 times they no longer have enough energy to cast and vanish, this mean their duration is haste-based at 0% its 12s, at 100% its 6s.
2 - That UI element is called Totem Bars, there is a limited amount of slots inside it as it was originally created to track Shaman Totems, Wild Imps who can reach 20+ numbers would overwhelm it.
In particular, Totem bars pet have the nasty issue of when a new one shows up above the limit, it kicks the oldest one out of existence (yes it despawns them)
3 - Tracking Wild Imps Individual duration is not very much of a necessary thing, specially once you understand the rotational concepts like Implosion Cycles and Tyrant setups and how much/how many imps you can push without them starting to vanish.
But if you do want to track Wild Imps there are many weak auras who allow you to do , be it in packs, individuals, number of casts, expected duration or what you prefer.
a few recomendations of mine are one of those two.

Maybe one day they implement a buff on each wild imp with nÂş of stacks equal to number of casts allowing you to turn on guardian pets nameplates and track them like that for those who want to track them with a vanilla(non mod) option but sadly, this day is not today.
Yeah they could easily add a buff for every group of imps with the energy or bolt remaining on them. Would make it easy to track with an aura. This said once you have enough exp playing the spec it’s not really needed anymore.
Agree for the most part, since generally yeah when you play the spec long enough you kind of just know when you’re at good imp counts, problem now though is with all the imp modifiers we have it may actually require us to be more on top of the count, since now we have things like imp gangs, the 4 piece tier set, and imp mother.
While sure our tyrant setup still won’t change much, I think the trackers are going to get more and more needed in AoE due to the weird ways we replenish imps causing the counts to be all over the place.
They are wild imps
Emphasis on Wild
You can see how many imps you have out by looking at your implosion button.
Does anyone miss the cata version of HOG? Or mop version? Back the imps were part or a passive spell or glyph you could summon on demand.
Of course, that’s only if you have Implosion talented.
Implosion shows a counter for your wild imps on your action bar. I have Implosion on action button 5, so my custom UI calls GetActionCount(5) to request the number of wild imps I have out.
In BFA the Tyrant did damage based on how much energy your imps had (50% boost for each full energy imp) and there were addons/weakauras that told you how big a Tyrant you’d get at any given moment. That might be what you’re looking for or could be modified to be what you want.
Yeah, I keep it even when not talented on the bar, but I find it still a bit to lacking with specific packs of imps.
While normally it’s not really a huge issue, it feels like it will be extremely annoying to properly track imps timers with implosion since imp gang boss exists, along with some other random imp summoning abilities we get, so it’s not as clean of tracking as I’d like.
