I’m just coming back to WoW and I’m going to be playing a level 20 rogue for PvE only. I have a hand injury (gaming mouse doesn’t help much) so I need to keep things as simple as possible. Which of the specs has the simplest, slowest rotation?

Probably sin, outlaw is crazy fast paced. Can’t speak for sub but I heard their high burst windows are crucial. Which stresses me out too much. Assassination, is a nice flowing spec. You won’t be the best but keeping your dots up and using vendetta on cooldown will keep you competitive
Definitely Assassination. I believe it has the lowest actions per minute (APM) of any melee spec in the game. And probably most range specs.

Sin will be kind to you, may also suggest fury warrior or fdk. Frost DK will see you at the top of the meters almost everytime. Hand injury or no.

Did you seriously suggest fury? That’s one of the specs with the highest APM.
I gave other advice as well. It may be considered faster APM but also very simple rotation to follow. Also he would have easy access to mobility options for someone with a hand injury. Heroic leap with @ macro and charge, for PvE getting out of bad environments is something to think about for his enjoyailbility.
But yes, a little faster of a playstyle.

Never understood how Sin rogues are considered so low in APM. I’m sure the calculations are right but to me it feels just as fast as Sub/Outlaw. I almost always have have something to press every gcd.
I feel like Sub is really fast when you have Shadow dance up, but insanely slow and energy starved when building new charges.
Sin was crazy fast paced in legion but it feels very very slow, I went outlaw because I was so bored with sin in uldir
You might also consider rolling a druid instead. You get the rogue-y feel of feral when you’re up to it but you can also switch to guardian and have an extremely slow, methodical rotation where you slowly kill 5 mobs at a time and just simply never die.
Guardian is my “play with one hand and smoke a bowl with the other” go-to lately; I think it would be a good fit while you recover.
Easy? Outlaw.
Slow Build Up? Assassination.
