Hi all,
I’m running MM for the first time in raid tonight. Icy Veins recommends running explosive shot over careful aim for a few fights, and most of them I understand EXCEPT Halondrus. Why should I run it in a single target fight?
And is switching to volley for some fights better over sticking with LnL?
At a guess, it’s because Halondrus is a movement-heavy fight. Careful aim is a channel spell and while there will be time for it at the beginning of the fight, the two transition phases are a literal chase and the last phase can involve a scramble to avoid missles/bump orbs and you’d probably have to interrupt the channel a lot.
Careful aim buffs aimed shots cast at enemies above 70% health. Aimed shot is the cornerstone of MM, so I have to cast regardless.
His 2nd relocate is at 45% though, which for any boss would make careful aim useless. The first relocate I guess it could be a pain to get aimed shots off, but it’s possible. If I could I’d swap to BM just for this fight, but I don’t want to put everyone through the grief of waiting for me to swap conduits and all that.
No one is running explosive shot.

I mean the only way I could see it being possibly Recommended is if you don’t have any tier.
The list assumes 4pc, but it’s also probably old by this point.
