Activison, the company known for rushing releases to meet deadlines seems to once again be rushing a release to meet a deadline judging by the PTR, despite the fact that pretty much every software project in America is experiencing delays due to COVID and the WFH situation… and companies are pushing deadlines in response (except Blizzard).
I’m sorry to say but I think SL might end up being another WoD with a lot of good ideas and a LOT of stuff missing/incomplete.
What about Legion in between? Testing cycle wasn’t any different and some specs still had big issues with their artifacts going into the final weeks of testing, people still felt like that was being rushed due to the reaction to 6.2 but hey, that worked out pretty okay, they got there.
Or do we exclude Legion because it was good and doesn’t fit our intent to be pessimistic fearing another WoD (which on launch was extremely well polished overall) and BFA (an actual cluster where the core system of the expansion wasn’t tested until days before launch)?
You know, even if it got delayed I don’t feel it could “save” Shadowlands. Shadowlands is a bet, it’s a change, it’s already a lot more efforts/communication than BFA did.
If they wait too long to get it out, it wouldn’t be then too worth to backtrack on some design like they said they’re ready to.
I think they’re rushing it out because 8.3 has been a massive failure as far as keeping players interested and subscribed, and they’re seeing a large number of players unsubscribing.
The fact that horrific visions have been way less popular than projected reflects in the fact that torghast originally appeared to be horrific visions 2.0, but they’ve backed off on some of what was going to be popular with top players.
The reality is that what is “fun” for some people is not fun for others. I’m not sure why you think you should be permitted to have fun at the expense of others. But it is what it is. I see no reason to continue playing since you are apparently being encouraged to scream “I deserve more! Gimme-gimme!”
Sure. You scream you want more free stuff and an infinite amount of content, and you want to make sure casuals get nothing what ever to do.
Good luck paying 4x as much when your demands have chased away the paying customers who don’t appreciate having nothing to do so you can get more, more, MORE!
And…
It’s not about removing anything from you. You just want a whole lot more.
