Hallows End

Can I ask what the reasoning for having such abysmal drop rates for the Headless Horseman mount is? I’m on year like 13 here and no mount, this time I’ve run it daily on 12 toons a day and I have only seen the mount -once- in all my runs with people opening their loot pumpkins. Cmon Blizz… why??? This isn’t even fun…

I’m in the same boat. Same amount of time but only 4 toons for me.
It’s almost impossible to imagine not seeing it once in 13 years.

I’ve been farming Invincible for yeeeeeeeeeeears lol. Every time I’m like, it must drop this round, huh? Then statistics go “not today, turd burglar”

Should be obvious, same reason for the renown gates and stuff, to keep played metrics up when they have nothing…

glad i skipped this yr when i see posts like these.

Skipping it means 0% drop rate

Can’t complain about not having it when you don’t try

The same reasons for Ashes and Invincible. They are coveted mounts from moment of release. If it dropped let’s say 80% of the time,it wouldn’t be special anymore.

Hell took me 14 years of multiple toons and finally got HH this year.

It is not the same because you can farm those 2 mounts the whole year.

Headless and Love rocket should have their drop rates increased considering the event is only available 1 time per year. Or at least make the events rotation be like Timewalking. 2/3 times per year.

That’s not what it’s called anymore

Based on my Twitter feed/Discords I’m in a ton of people are getting it this year. Can’t speak for what happens in groups since I’m not queuing for it.

because the reward system was created with the mentality of things almost imposible while other game design rewards against something that you could achieve at some moment, if you really want some mounts on WoW, you must use an army of Alts because of the odds.

Is more probably to die by a shark that getting the love rocket.

The there’s the player base that will cry if they change anything around those drops, it took me 8000+ attempts on sha of anger but i don’t care if Devs increase the drop, i’ll get mad against them because they didn’t sooner but not against player base, just like mechagon meta achievement that will receive updates on 9.1.5, i got it during bfa which was a lot of time farming things but now those vynils and other things drop rate was increase from nowhere in another expansion.

While other games promote Halloween, xmas…etc events with new things, blizzard doesn’t add something new to those or just a toy to the vendor and the old things are nearly impossible.

Also this awful drop rate design doesn’t bring excitement to new players, if i bring a friend and he asked me about some mounts…well that friend maybe wont feel like the game deserves their time to achieve that goal.

At least Shadowlands has some mounts from rares that are also added to some vendors like a bad luck protection and most mounts have high % rate, hopefully we wont see any new mount with really low %. % below 1% shouldn’t be part of the game.

I giggled so much at this!

lol get out of here with that crap. the drop rate has been low for years before people started spewing this nonsense.

Exactly, and those same people have been doing it for years… it’s a carrot on a stick that never goes bad.

And the drop rates are low for those as well, so maybe in your book it is not but in mine it still counts because only 'X" ammount of players get them and continue to try. So I will agree to disagree with you on that.

At least Ashes and Invincible has 1-2% drop rate, while other mounts like Sha, Love Rocket,Headless are below 1%, some are even 0.03%.

Which are drop rates that won’t promote the game among new players, if you want these mounts before you die, you must level up an army of alts and still you wont get it.

WoW doesn’t have a good reward system around these events and they use these low drops to keep some player engage and then player base fight each other because you got it wasting a lot of time and now you must receive validation, example i got mad because 9.1.5 will implement changes to really low drop rates to mechagon things for meta achievement that i got during bfa, but i got angry with the devs, playerbase that’ll get now the mount lucky that you didn’t suffer the bad reward design that sometimes implies waiting for new patches and fixes.

I don’t think they’ll change some mount drop % from previous expansions because of the player base that already got it, but they need to stop this trend of really bad rng with bad luck protections or mounts that are rewards of hard / fun content, clear goals.

Like this new book mount by completing each mage tower challenge.

Each their own, and I could understand when it was basically the only flying horsey mount. But so much better choices now.

Blizzard could give it to everyone then make a more updated better version and let people spend another how ever many years doing the same thing over again. Doooo iiiit Blizzard.

This is just wrong, Blizz. As someone who’s had the mount since, like, the first year it was added, and have gotten it on multiple alts over the years, and deleted a few since mounts went account-wide, it is way past time to put the mount on the holiday vendor for a large amount of Tricky Treats.

I say this because Wowhead’s got it listed as acquired by over 40% the population. Who knows how accurate that is. Feels like everyone has it. I can see keeping things like the Love Rocket a drop since it’s still so rare but at this point it just feels like cruelty to not let players who’ve been trying to get this common mount for years not just trick or treat and kill the Horseman just about every day of Hallow’s End and buy it.
