Hallows end revamp and the sinister squashling

Last night i posted a thread about what I didnt like about the new hallows end activities, here is what I thought about as something that I think might have been a fun change they could do. It all circles around the sinister squashling as a minion of the horseman running amok through out the world. I will start this off saying I am a pet collector so a big reward for me is pets and I more focused on them than anything else.

first, horseman hardmode achievements, yes multiple. For every curse you have active and beat the horseman you get an achievement earning you a recolor of the squashling pet.
1 curse, Fel touched squashling, orange squash with green fire
2 curses, rotting sinister squashling, black pumpkin with normal fire
3 curses, fel touched rotting squashling, black pumpkin, green fire
4 curses, seriously sinister squashling, white pumpkin, black fire

now onto the meat and potatoes of my idea. Every expansion has at least 1 zone mini boss. A recolored and or reskinned squashling boss themed around the zone. For the pet battlers like myself they either drop, or have mini versions you can battle and tame around them. Other rewards include a toy that turns you into a squashling that persists through combat, a flail weapon transmog that looks like a jack-o-lantern on a vine (maybe in a few colors), a standard cape with a jack-o-lantern face on it, and of course pets the same model as the bosses. Plus, an achievement for killing them all that turns you into a giant squashling ground mount that can carry 2 passengers in its vines (basically teh sandstone drake meets hive mind).

Heres what the squashlings look like.
TBC, outside black temple, black pumpkin, fel green fire, illidari horns, purple vines.
Wrath, outside ICC, white pumpkin, blue fire, small ice horns forming a crown, blue vines
Cata, hyjal near firelands, full fire elemental squashling
cata, twilight highlands, void touched/ void elemental squashling
MoP, outside throne of thunder, lightning effects instead of fire.
Mop, sha infested areas, Mottled white and black squash and vine, black fire
draenor, ogre areas, 2 pumpkins, 1 vine
draenor, orc areas, replace the tips of vines with bladefists.
Legion, argus, purple squash, green fire
Legion, broken shore around raid, full green fire elemental squashling
BFA, nazjatar, purple fleshy squash, tentacles instead of vines
BFA, mecagon, black tires for head with neon face, cables for vines.
Shadowlands, maldraxus, red squash, green and black fire, no vines, sits on a bone cyclone
shadowlands, bastion, blue squash, white fire, no vine, angel wings
shadowlands, revendreath, grey stone squash with red fire and bat wings, no vine
shadowlands, ardenweild, blue anima cone squash, butterfly wings
dragonflight, all around the dragons, scaly squash the colors of the dragon flights with fire to match.

so there is my idea. it would give a better reason to travel everywhere than just the candy buckets. more rewards, and interesting bosses to fight on theme with the event.

So in order to get all the pets, you need to find ways to cheese the event so you complete it at least 4 times, one with each variation of curses? Sounds like nigh on impossible without some sort of a cheat mechanism.

As a player who has neither interest in pets nor in Blizzard spending lots more resources on them, I vote no.

You could get all 4 pets in 1 go. After all, if you have 4 curses active then you have 3 active as well. I get not everyone being into pets, but it is still a better reward than nothing at all.

As far as resources, recoloring an existing model takes little time or effort. Setting up those achievements wouldnt take longer than an hour for a dev.

That wasn’t clear from your initial posting. It read as though you had to experience all 4 possibilities to earn all for pets.

sounds fun, but at this point id be happy if they didnt have Arfus and the mount appearance have as low a drop rate as the mount…doesnt seem like good math to me

I’m a fan of determinate loot on holiday events, I know the pain of farming a boss every day on 6 or more characters just to not get what you want. Pet battles for the squashlings with the rest being drops purchasable from the vendor for candies sounds good to me, or with a very high drop rate. I see no reason to needlessly stress out the player base with loot and prizes they want, that they have little chance of getting.
