Hi,
Upon accepting the 1-hour-limited, Saturday-only quest, it turns out that it has not given me the buff and therefore is impossible to complete. Considering this is a one-day only quest, this seems like a pretty insane bug to let fester. The buff is missing and fishing up the fish required for the quest gives no quest credit.
I’m having the same issue. Haven’t disconnected or anything, was just never given the buff in the first place. Abandoning and re-accepting the quest does not grant the buff either.
I am also having this issue. I was not given the buff in the first place either.
Also, I acted as if the buff was invisible but when I caught 2/3 of the quest fish (Bloody Perch and Spiked Sea Raven) I was not given credit.
I can also confirm that picking up the quest does not grant the buff. No Marks given from fish looted.

I did try it on an alt, and was given the buff. Unfortunately that’s not the character I want collecting the currency…

some, it is so frustation! I only needed 3 fish to get the achievement!
Blizzard basically locked us out!
Still an issue in 2025 apparently. Wasn’t having this problem the last few weeks, now suddenly I am when I try to do this on alts
