Hallowfall Fishing Derby Needs Adjustment

This was the first Hallowfall Derby I have not been able to finish and there is no way I am abandoning and starting over.

I had 2 of the 3 fish and needed the last one from a Royal Ripple. I fished a total of 9 Royal pools and did not get the fish. Seriously? C’mon Blizz, this is just dumb. It’s supposed to be a quick diversion to make a few MEAGER coins for MEDIOCRE rewards. I mean, I fished up 20+ coins while doing the event, more than twice as many as I would have received from the quest turn-in. I finally gave up and am considering if I even want to bother in the future.

While I’m ranting:

No cool new fishing pole as part of the rewards you can buy? That kinda seems like a no-brainer for a FISHING derby, don’t ya think?

What ever happened to fishing etiquette in the game? Like today - I swoop down on a pool, see someone fishing it and leave. Find another pool, swoop down, same guy fishing, I leave. Find my own pool, that same guy swoops down, fishes my pool. This happens all the time now. Of course, I’m sure they would be upset if I did it to them, but, you know…me, me, me, right?

Trying to “be the change I want to see in the world” is getting tougher all the time.

This annoys me so much. I’m like you- if someone else has claimed the pool I move on. When someone else comes in and starts fishing right out of my pool I legit get angry. There is a quote credited to Mike Tyson about social media and disrespect that applies to a huge part of our society.

Usually a quick thing for me.

Hour and half in and I got one trophy fish on the first try. Zero half hour into the second.

I have fished up 5 null stones, which is more than I would get mining on my miner.

There should be more to fishing for sure.

If it’s during the derby I will fish your pool cause Im on a time limit otherwise I give you your pool unless you take mine.

During the Derby, we’re all on a time limit, chum. And trying to double dip in another person’s pool only hurts you both.

How much of an impact does having the x100 anglerthread make on fishing up derby fish?

I took 40 alts through the saturday before last. It took me 7 hours almost. I get the fish every single time first cast. Make sure you are using the right lures too.
My fishing skill on all my alts is 2-5.
