Return of the living dead. The best thing about the 80s as a zombie movie.

That’s the best zombie movie ever in my opinion. :+1:

Just seen 2007 film Trik R Treat. What a masterpiece. Check it out after the OG Friday the 13ths.

Me too. Under the covers tonight if I make it into bed or the couch with the lights on!

I do a Marathon every year watching a Horror film or franchise every night for the entire month.
Normally, I attempt to mix things up throw in new movies or films I haven’t watched in years. But there are a few that ALWAYS make the marathon every year.

  • Hellraiser (but only 1-4, Judgement and the new movie since all of the others were trashed scripts for unrelated films forced to be re-written as Hellraiser to maintain the license)
  • Evil Dead (ED2, Army of Darkness & Ash vs The Evil Dead FX series)
  • Trick-or-Treat
  • In the Mouth of Madness
  • at least 1 or 2 from Steven King
  • The Lost Boys (still one of the best vampire movies ever made)
  • Fright Night
  • The Thing (the 82 one, not the garbage remake)
  • Dark City (more nior suspense, but still spooky enough to make the list)
  • Identity (another that’s more suspense than horror but it is def a solid spooky entry)

I’m not into scary movies.

But if I had to choose one, it would be The Nightmare Before Christmas. Which some people consider to be both a Halloween and Christmas movie.

The Exorcist is my favorite Halloween/horror movie. I’ll probably watch it tonight.

This year I have been watching a bunch of stuff I’ve never seen before. Most of it’s pretty bad. Like M3gan. James Won (Wan?) hit a home run with The Conjuring and Insidious but everything else has been garbage. Especially Malignant. Think I’m now dumber for watching it.

Eh at least M3gan was funny. I feel like Malignant is more fun for folks that already like that specific horror genre that its an homage to.

What’s Malignant a homage to?

Italian Horror mostly. Giallo is the word for it. Usually a psychological thriller / murder mystery mish mash. There’s a lot you can read for it on wikipedia.

I know what a Giallo is and I gotta say I didn’t make that connection with Malignant because the main character had Voldemort coming out of the back of her head that made her fight like Neo from the Matrix.

Ah well that’s what he was going for lol. I wasn’t aware you knew of giallo, my bad XD
