Is this right, or is there other ways to get a second splinter per week besides from the Aiding the Accord 1500 rep quest in ED?

Yep, this is correct–the first week we can make a whole spark and then after that its a half each. I noticed it on a video when everything launched from someone who saw it on the ptr

my issue is these things are items… in the bag. and if you have 1 full spark and a splitter, you end up with one crafting item taking up 2 slots for like a extra week if you are going to make a weapon but clicked the first one you got.
couldn’t the system have just used splinters if they wanted it to be a crafting item and the crafting requirements be 2 splitters instead of 1 spark created by combining to splinters.

It was no different last season. Unless you fall behind and then the catchup system will let it drop from content you do during the week, but only until you’re caught up again. Then it’s back to 2 weeks per spark.

I have been use to getting a full spark a week for quite awhile now, i do not remember 10.0, let alone yesterday lol. Was getting half a spark from Researchers, and then another half from the Niffins rep bag each week for a long time now.
Just saying.
It was cumulative. So you could (week number)/2 total. So in week 10, you could have 5.5 sparks (cuz you get a whole spark week one).
The best part is, it’s account wide. So if a room starts late, you can earn all your sparks in one week if you play enough.
Every other week is still extremely powerful for being able to craft any slot with perfect stats and a high item level (assuming you have the crests).

Other than the whole random drop deal? Valid question even if you played 10.0.

That was only for sparks 6+. You got 1-5 by doing a questline, where each part would unlock 2 weeks after the previous.
Although, it was interesting to see the people complain that step 4 of this quest line was “do normal halls of infusion” and how that was apparently unacceptable.
