I would say Blizzard has done a good job keeping this out of the game because whenever I play GTA5 Online, players including me are getting blown up on loop or a big money drop occurs or they do something with the files to give themselves achievements that they haven’t earned.
Makes me wonder how this hasn’t happened in WoW yet, sure there are bots or people who can DDOS the servers but nothing holds a candle to the absurdity that modding has become in GTA5 Online.
It probably has something to do with how Blizzard keeps as little information as possible on the actual client (like inventory, gear, character movement, buffs, stats, quests, systems).
Unless someone can breach into the server, they can only edit the client, and if the server catches the client not matching up enough, they are already dead.
It’s the reason why there are so many stupid restrictions on what addons can do in combat, and why there’s some information they can’t access even if it’s right there on your screen.
It happens in wow every now and then, but blizzard resolves it quickly and vigilantly works with law enforcement to apprehend the perpetrators.

I’m not sure about wow but for starcraft you can use cheats for story mode and still get achievements by playing on a cracked version of starcraft, all those achievements will pop after you launched the real version on battlenet.
I’ve been trying to get that Wings of Liberty’s space shooter arcade game achievement for more than half a year now, it’s the only one I’m missing among all the other campaign achievements. I’m seriously considering cheating it out because that achievement is impossible for me to get.
Let me tell you a story about the AQ floor hack from back in 1972
i just want my account back, i was hacked this past tuesday…yes i know i should have an authenticator…if im being honest tho i didnt think i needed one as ive played for 14 years without. Now i know that doesnt excuse my ignorance for not having one. However i have emailed Blizzard all the requested info which includes a copy of my ID and have heard nothing since. The account im posting on i had to create just so i could post and talk to people to try and figure this out… dont know if i have starting over in me.
I have seen someone hack only twice the entire time I have played wow (they were both for the same thing.)
In flag carrying bgs once Warsong Gultch the other
Twin Peaks They launch up into the sky with the flag so nobody can hit them then come back down to cap once the efc is dead.
That’s the only hack I have ever seen lol. Blizzard handles the hackers pretty well and fast.
TBH your payment info should be more than enough to verify I mean you had to have used the same card if you used one for both accounts Id hit that customer service forum.
im on the customer service forum, i had a blue post with a link to submit the ticket, i have the ticket number and the email from blizz saying they needed a copy of my id which i provided and after that silence for what will be a week here in a couple days
probably going to be a bit as they definitely reviewing ips and logins/activity.
I haven’t seen a hacker in retail in over a decade. It used to occur fairly frequently in Vanilla and to some extent BC, but they were pretty swift at resolving it. Classic has hackers but I’m not sure how bad it is. Warden and Blizzard has made hacking almost impossible. Demon hunters can trigger an anti cheat protection with some of their abilities.
they were all over in legion skybox bots it was horrid.
Warden. That’s how.
