In the wake of the cataclysmic fall of Quel’thalas, a time when the once-great elven kingdom lay shattered and vulnerable, a group of surviving magi emerged as beacons of hope amidst the ruins. United by the shared vision of survival and advancement in a transformed world, the Magisterium was born. It became a bastion of hope, a place where elves could adapt and evolve their magical practices, ensuring not only their survival but also the preservation of the ancient arts in the face of adversity.
Whether you’re a master of ancient spells, a genius in magical machinery, a curator of specialty items, or a defender of the realm, there’s a place for you within our organization. At the heart of the Magisterium is a commitment to cooperation. We value the synergy that arises when individuals of different backgrounds unite to tackle the challenges of our ever-evolving world. Together, we amplify our strengths and forge new paths in the pursuit of excellence.
Behind the Scenes
The Magisterium is the love child between the Magistry and the Kirin Tor. We are elf-heavy, but not elf-exclusive. While our lore is based in Thalassian shenanigans, there’s a place for almost any race and class combination so long as their motivations are aligned with the guild. We’re hoping to meet new writers, curate interesting storylines, and add our creativity to the community.
If this theme tickles your fancy, there’s opportunities to explore leadership roles and add your contributions to the narrative structure. Additionally, our discord is intended to bridge the gap between in-game time and an offline sense of community and character progression - writing opportunities and general tomfoolery abound!
What We’re Looking For
There are no race/class restrictions for membership. Anyone with a passion for storytelling looking for a friendly environment to develop their OC and/or grind content with goobers of equal goobiness will fit right in. Examples of existing OC archetypes include:
- Literally any flavor of caster. You can write it? Great. Get in here.
- Spellbreakers/Defenders/Spies/Spellbows
- Apprentice arcanists looking to make their mark.
- Citizen types seeking purposeful work not limited to their home capital.
- Non-elves seeking stable work from elves willing to pay.
What To Expect
- Our focus is RP, M+, and PvP. Keys and rating grinds are happening throughout the season. We’re happy to help you get started or keep bumping up your numbers.
- We welcome both horde and alliance characters.
- We have guilds on WrA and MG that will be merged in TWW. Our discord serves as the bridge between communities.
- Our RP style is a mixture of shortform/longform writing and D&D-esque campaigns.
- We’re a group of adults (21+). Our vibe is chill, friendly, and occasionally ridiculous. Blatant toxicity is not tolerated, but insanity is.
