[H/A] <Duskwatch Saberguard> RP guild - Unity through Order!

After a year of costly campaigns against the Scourge, blight and their own struggles at home, Suramar has discovered that funding for the unit is running low. Despite the assistance of several noble families, we still need to find a way to help supplement our missions that take us abroad.

Therefore…

The Duskwatch Saberguard is pleased to announce our new merchant division within our ranks: The Moonlight Market!

We have been given permission to contact, work with and sell goods from Suramar based vintners and artists to help fund our unit. This new division will be able to attend and run stalls at server events while proudly representing Suramar and the Duskwatch Saberguard.

If you’re a vendor, merchant, vintner, chef, artist, etc… we have the division for you! (you will be exempt from running laps during PT :joy:)

Nice pic! It reminds me that I still need to learn how to use the Narcissus add-on to compose images like these myself. :upside_down_face:

The event was fun. All the cross-faction RP going on made for great people-watching and eavesdropping. People playing vendors, etc., made it feel like a real festival. The opening play was great (especially, Demon #3 )! And the audience participation was great too! The relay race demonstrated how riding-bears can squeeze their butts down narrow paths and that worgen runners can hold their own against mounted racers. The fireworks finale with everyone gathered on the dock and the pyrotechnicians punting about on rafts below was a pretty impressive sight. Looking forward to the next big celebration!

The Saberguard spent the week trying to uncover corruption inside the Sanctum of Order and within the noble houses of Suramar.

After discovering the identity of the Duskwatch commander that has been luring us into ambushes and the name of a suspected noble house that was helping him… we moved on the estate to uncover more information.

Using a mixture of skills and some well timed sneak attacks, we were able to apprehend the guards at the front of the estate.

Once inside, we discovered a teleportation pad that could take us further into the noble’s home. The unit teleported up and instantly found felborne guarding the Duskwatch Commander. During the fight, the Duskwatch commander showed his true form as he dropped his illusion to reveal he was truly a demon in disguise.

The Saberguard were able to stop him from teleporting away and captured him along with the corrupt noble. The unit returned to Meredil victorious.

Our new merchant division worked a stall at the Menagerie Boutique this week and had a blast! It was great fun to meet new people, have great RP and just interact with the community in a different way. We’re already excited for the next one!

We ventured out on patrol to check on the more northern and eastern locations of interest.

After checking the wards around Shal’aran, we made our way toward Tel’anor to set up runes and magical wards that will allow us to keep an eye on the harpies.

We then made our way toward the old tunnels in the Crimson Thicket. While tapping into the leylines to check on them, we were suddenly attacked by several withered that were hiding in the shadows. After realizing these withered were suffering from a strange illness, we were able to capture one to bring it back to Shal’aran with the hopes of healing it and discovering what had happened to it.

Some of the unit came together to work with Tarlore to help the withered that had been captured in the Crimson Thicket. After learning some of the history of the Arcan’dor and the differences between Nightfallen and withered, the team discovered this particular withered wasn’t beyond help.

The group also discovered that this withered was ill from some form of necrotic disease. With fears it may have connections to when the Scourge were in Suramar, the unit sends out letters for aid from their contacts in the Argents.

Into Duskwood:

The Saberguard were suddenly given a mission from the Sanctum of Order: head into the Deadwind Pass and Duskwood to study the leylines there. It was an odd command considering they were tending to possible corruption in Suramar’s leylines but orders were orders.

The unit arrived in Stonard by portal, received their orders from the Patrol Captain and then made their way into the Deadwind Pass. After getting them lost because she can’t read a map, Loviattar finally found the spot where it would be best to study the leylines. However the Saberguard found they were being watched and approached by Alliance.

A sudden mist swept through the canyon, pushing both Saberguard and Alliance forces back into Duskwood. The Shal’dorei, now cut off from Stonard and unable to complete their mission, were forced to ask the Duskwood locals for assistance (more like Loviattar demanded it).

The Duskwatch were shone a place to camp, the local friendly ghost told the history of the forest and as the groups parted for the night, tensions were extremely high…

(We continue Tuesday night in Duskwood with random free RP in between!)

After scouting the Deadwind Pass and realizing it was still blocked, the Saberguard decided to push into Alliance territory to see the Great Tree at Twilight Grove. It was believed that studying it’s resilience in such a dark forest could provide information on how the Arcan’dor could do the same should it ever come under attack.

The Shal’dorei were quickly tracked and followed by the local defense force… however everything came to a halt as Muratani’s saber was suddenly grabbed and tripped by something in the road.

Careful inspection found the saber was grabbed by what appeared to be an undead orc hand. Precision work finally freed the poor saber, just as a force of living scarecrows moved in to attack.

With the help of the Alliance and local defense, they were able to take out the scarecrows with minimal injuries. After having a discussion on the nature of these creatures, it was agreed upon that there was likely some form of necromancer operating in Duskwood.

As the night hours grew short, the party continued on until they finally found Twilight Grove. Despite the ever increasing tensions, the Saberguard camped beneath the tree for the night.

Loviattar for Best DM 2022.

For the year I’ve known her, she’s run a WoW campaign, run two DnD campaigns, helped me with my two campaigns, run a guild, and actively contributed to the community as a whole - all at the same time. Seriously, she’s a powerhouse, and an awesome person.

I thought that was IC shenanigan.

I have got a doctor cousin. And used to have quite many medic friends. (P.S. I’m not med.)
I don’t know why, but I feel like >80% of them have natural tendency to lose way around, too. Most frequently, entering a place for first few times, despite map. I had quite a joy, having trips with groups of lost meds. (So I pretended unable to help with map, too.)

This trait is not disclosed to public knowledge, because med people don’t tell non-med outsiders. And outsiders normally aren’t allowed free entry, inside.

I’m outsider. But I look very alike them, so they thought I was one of them. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Aww! Don’t make me cry! :purple_heart: :black_heart:

Silly Tarlore, stop posting for Lovi.

The Saberguard finished up their research in Duskwood, finding out several interesting things about the leylines, the land and the Great Tree. After their research was completed, they moved out to track down the one that had been plaguing them with living scarecrows.

They were able to track the undead Doctor to an abandoned farm. The Saberguard and their new Duskwood friends charged in, engaging a large towering scarecrow and the necromancer in battle.

The group also found that inside the barn, local civilians were being kept to be turned into scarecrows. A small team snuck in and freed them.

Once the battle was won, the Saberguard returned to their camp and packed their things for their journey home. It had been an interesting week.

Oh hey I see me! It was a lot of fun having you guys in Duskwood (also a couple of the screenshots in this thread are mine. )

Fun fact, this week was my first time doing RP combat stuff with rolls and stuff, which I guess this means the Duskwatch Saberguard are among the first to see him in action. Fun learning experience!

I hope you guys had as much fun in Duskwood as I had butting heads and ultimately coming together to defeat a greater evil, the staple for Horde and Alliance plots!

Kahleem is happy to have met the Saberguard. They are good people and experts at taming adorable magical kitty cats. :heartpulse: :cat:

Thanks to Kahleem we have some awesome screenshots that show off our mounted training in Meredil!

The riders were paired off and competed against each other to knock over wooden stakes stuck into the ground at a gallop. Points were awarded depending on whether you tipped the stake or fully knocked it from the ground.

We had an audience for the games.

The second game was charging at an opponent and trying to do the same. They discovered that knocking over a wooden stake was nowhere near as hard as trying to hit a target that could think and dodge. However good hits were landed and at least one Duskwatch (coughLovicough) ended up dismounted and tumbling into the bushes during the challenge.
