A brief rundown on where our story lies currently. This isnât everything that has gone on but a brief run through of the past few weeks.
The Macabre Mask has been established in the shadowy corners of Lordaeron for quite some time. (Our old guild concept from 2018 is still canon to our story.) During this time thereâs been several people who have been with the various echelons of the Mask.
It all started when things started to go wrong. The Count and several agents went forward to claim a ship that had just been sold to the Macabre Mask only to find rogues in wait. Taken by surprise, the group fell to the attack, were kidnapped and taken for hostage. The group then learned of a schism taking place. Former Viscountess Zena Salvatore claiming that she was the true leader of the Macabre Mask and that Count Dietrich Krause and the Sanguine Masks were merely false.
Sanguine Mask, Azelie managed to arrange an attack on the ship Zena was stationed on and rescued the others who had been captured but did not manage to take out the Viscountess or reclaim the ship, the Sophia Lee.
The Masks soon came to find that the Viscountess was actively working against their cause and tipping off guards to their hideaway in Silvermoon City. With some assistance and probing of one of the guards, the group managed to catch wind of an informant of Zenaâs in Silvermoon City and tracked him down. In a cold blooded rage, the Mask stormed the location and âPersuadedâ him for any information about the Viscountess and the ship. The Forbidding Sea.
Scouting indicated that it wasnât far off of the Hinterlands and Arathi Highlands coast. Itâs sails were completely ruined due to a currently unknown cause and a sitting duck. After some short time of watching itâs movements and activity the Mask assaulted the ship with a large group. Slaughtering over a dozen sea men and one forsaken now known as Duke Lorenzo Blithe. One of the agents of what has been dubbed: âThe True Macabre Maskâ. A ledger documented multiple agents specific names and rankings within her side of the schism and an attack plan on the âFalse Macabre Maskâ as they called it. We were prepared.
The attack on their hide out came soon after. This time, assassins. Unprepared assassins. One of the major names listed in the recovered ledger, a Nightborne named Baron Karil Laphistril. The large group of the Masks had little trouble dispatching this Baron. A quick death was not offered to Karil. Instead his head will soon adorn the walls of the very hideout he had attacked. The Masks plan to focus their effort to attempt to snuff out the agents and officers of the Former Viscountess, now claiming to be the True Countess⊠And claim every last coin and possession of theirs as our own.
