(H) [RP/PVP/PVE] Defilers of Arathor

Defilers
Our forces have been dispersed, scattered and placed across Azeroth. The war for Stromgarde was fought hard, but we can no longer claim victory there. It is time we place ourselves where we belong. With the Forsaken who fight for the Horde.

Structure

The structure of the Defilers of Arathor is one of the most important aspects of the guild. It allows for a fluid movement in all its activities even in the case that the guild master or an upper officer is not present. This creates an environment in which all ranks are to some degree responsible for the stability of the guild and the community. This means that the ranks hold responsibility and are not simply titles to be gained and collected. We do our best to place people in positions which best suit them and avoid any nepotism that might occur.

The Troopers are broken into groups of eight called squads all of which have two Dreadguard. The Dreadguard 1st and the Dreadguard 2nd these Dreadguard report to the Captains the actions that take place and request for supplies for their Squads.

The Captains are made of two to three each of these groups will keep track of and keep their company supplied. The Captains report to the Magistrates all movement, ability, and activities of the company.

The Councilors handle all forms of external guild relations. This includes co-op guild events, any event that has members of other guilds attending creating any RP PvP battles.

RP

Defilers of Arathor has always been a guild that love RP and a progressing story. Whether that is one story or more than one going on. We look to organize ourselves in a fashion that allows a lack of confusion even if we have three to four stories going on within the guild. This means that we respect what we bring to the RP community and the RP profiles and players within the Defilers of Arathor reflect that.

We consider ourselves and RP PvP guild. That means we enjoy RP and we enjoy PvP and the situations that all these things create. Though many of our stories are those of a military nature we will and pride ourselves on having stories that branch far out of this limited sphere.

RP Currently

The Defilers of Arathor are currently looking to prove to the Horde that they are loyal. With Stromgarde lost to the Alliance the betrayal and departure of the Banshee Queen who they had stayed loyal they find themselves in a precarious situation. As they look to prove themselves to the Horde they are first and foremost loyal to the Forsaken and their best interest as a people.

PvP

The Defilers of Arathor have always enjoyed PvP and we look to continue to partake. We will be beginning RBG in Shadowlands with as much gusto as we do with everything we do. When it comes to World PvP we are always willing to partake and a word will often get us to the fight.

In the case of any guild member that is under attack we will always aid them, and this is considered a priority when building our community. Though we always look to fight a fair fight and will not partake in a zerg or overwhelming harassment of a member of the server.

PvE

The Defilers of Arathor have a limited past with PvE but because of the importance of our community we partake in Mythic dungeons and pushing them to the highest possible limit. We will be involving ourselves in raiding come Shadowlands.

Organizations

The Defilers of Arathor have had a long-standing set of Organizations; Royal Apothecaries Society, Deathstalkers, and Cult of Forgotten Shadows. These will not be going away, when you join the guild you will be able to join one of these organizations which will provide additional story to your current story. You will not have a rank amongst these organizations but will be able to partake in the activities, quests, and stories.

Trooper – The Troopers of the Defilers are taught to be tenacious and unflinching in the field. Sworn to defend the Forsaken from threats foreign and from within. They are most numerous amongst the Defilers.

Dreadguard – The Dreadguard are veteran Defilers, experience has made them suited to lead the troopers into battle. Every group of eight Troopers is led by two Dreadguard.

Captain – Captains are experienced Dreadguard who have chosen to take a more administrative role in the Defilers. Every group of 2 – 3 squad, a company, reports to the Captains who oversee supplies. These include gear, supplies (Potions, food, and flasks), and movement.

Magistrate – Magistrates are the administrative center of the Defilers. They are chosen as levelheaded and fair Forsaken who carry out and handle all the internal affairs of the Defilers.

Councilors – Councilors handle all affairs outside of the guild. These include relations between guilds and any events the Defilers are involved in.

Did you guys get tired of classic?

Our guild had a bit of a hiatus, some went to Classic to play others needed some time off. Though we all felt it was time to come back as we all missed the community.

It’s a shame your coming back as new and exciting things are about to happen. The Forsaken community could of really used the DoA during the grey time.

It’s a shame that we’re coming back? I will overlook that insult for now.
The forsaken community was strife’d with many issues during this grey time. Though now all we must do is pick up the pieces and keep moving forward as we must not let everything we’ve fought for go to waste.

Yes, you did let it go to waste and there really aren’t any pieces left to pick up that the other guilds haven’t already, because they stayed and kept doing things for the community.

One can count the DoA as another thing to enrich the community with. Better if it had happened when it was sorely needed and would have been structural. For now is just another color bubble floating in the air, ready to pop when it comes to something hard.

I’m just gonna throw it out there that, while I don’t know the DoA guys, running a guild is INCREDIBLY hard work. It’s something that I do that really does become a pressure in real life - there’s a lot of planning and organising events, trying to keep your members happy, and all sorts of sporadic challenges that can really get exhausting! I officered an allyside guild for about 4 years, and I’ve led my own, Lordaeron Unbound, for nearly a year on Horde. I know from personal experience that it gets hard, and can even feel like a job sometimes. I wouldn’t judge them too harshly if I were you.

Furthermore, this game has been tough, arguably ESPECIALLY for the Forsaken, this expansion. In many ways it’s been a real bummer, how the story turned out. After literally over a decade of development where the Forsaken reclaimed Western Lordaeron and really had a strong purpose… we suddenly find ourselves refugees in Orgrimmar, canonically. It sucks. I understand, even as an optimistic Forsaken fan myself, why some might not want to stick around… why they might need a break. Why classic might seem more appealing! IRL always comes before games. As much as some folks are committed to the game and always stick around… others aren’t, and that’s okay. At the end of the day we should all be playing to have fun - if we feel we’ll have more fun on a different game or whatever, that’s okay.

Again, guild leading is hard. Nobody is obligated to do it. The fact that these guys have come back should be a good thing, because their leadership team is organising all this stuff so that their members’ enjoyment of the game is enhanced.

So just a support bump for the Defilers in this time! I don’t know any of you, but I hope you’re doing well, and I hope your guild works out and becomes a really cool pillar of the Forsaken community. I’m glad you’re back!

DOA is one of my favorite Undead guilds, and I’m excited to see such an old guild come back! I’m very very much looking forward to seeing you all out in the world & am absolutely ecstatic that you guys are aiming for a bigger PVP focus than before! Always rooting for you! I hope Shadowcourt gets to team up with you in WPVP!

I’d clap with you if I had more flesh on my hands, otherwise it just sounds like dry sticks tinking together.
